Half way between the town of Santa Elena and the Santa Elena Preserve the Sky Walk is located: This complex use trails, suspension bridges for a more tranquil introduction to the ecology and natives of the forest canopy, constructed within the cloud forest. It allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground taking you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat, called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. Also discover the night wildlife at our Sky Walk Night Tour.

Through Desafio Adventure Co. I booked this tour and it was a nice easy walk through a number of bridges with a guide who was knowledgeable of the area, and flora that I was witnessing. The bridges were solid and not at all a worry...More

I am glad we went around 3 o'clock because it was not very crowded. You have to walk uphill at first, but it's pretty flat once your there. Most of the trail is just on wet dirt or whatnot, not the bridges. But the bridges...More

Our guide was very good, knowledgeable and friendly. I did not opt for the Zip lines although I am a good zip liner and tree climber for the following reasons: Monteverde is now home to far too many zip lines and such. I am a...More

We walked the trail and 8 bridges on our own, taking perhaps two hours- much slower than with a guide, at our own pace. Incredible views, so much to see. Many trees and plants were still in bloom, but all of the orchids and the...More

We walked with an excellent guide. We saw lots of animals (but without him would have missed them all). It was a lovely walk, not too taxing, though some in our group were nervous of the hanging bridges. The first part of the walk was...More

We did not opt for the Zip lines but instead headed for the 3km long Canopy walk. This proved to be an interesting experience especially as we were accompanied by a first rate Guide. There are 12 swinging walkways in all, from which you can...More

Came here as part of an organised tour which included the hanging bridges but not the zip wires etc. It was OK but not exceptional and if you are hoping to see a lot of animals then you will very possibly be disappointed, I think...More

One of the best experiences ever. Both the bridge tour and the ziplining / canopy tour cannot be missed by anyone going to Costa Rica. Excellent infrastructure and lots of adrenaline in a beautiful place, where nature is very well protected.

You can certainly do it on your own. That's what I did. You will mostly see pristine cloud forests from the hanging bridges and some exotic birds if you are lucky. There is really not much a guide can add to your experience... More
