This beach is off the main road and as a result it gives you a more peaceful, private space. Turtles nest here, people surf here. It's a beautiful Pacific beach with palm trees and miles of clean sand. You could easily have a 5 a side football game on this beach it is huge, both long and deep. The water... More

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica! Palmtrees, dark sand, warm water and just a few people!

This beach is deserted. I never saw more than one person anywhere and the beach stretches for miles. The waves are huge all the time and boogie boarding was really fun. Can't wait until next time.

We had a beach rental at this beach for two weeks and loved it. Yes, the sand is dark, but it is very soft. The best part of the two weeks was we hardly saw anyone there and when we did it was usually a local. The beach is perfect for wandering at low tide to look for shells and... More

We stayed at Clandestino Beach Lodge and spent several days swimming in the surf, lounging on the beach, and playing frisbee on the black sand beach. Saw lots of lizards, crabs, sand dollars, interesting birds, and some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets I've ever seen. Fantastic!

Empty beautiful beach without tourists... Absolutely amazing, but may be a little to dangerous for little kids because of the strong waves. But for surfers very good!

Nary another tourist. Private clean and wonderful. Lots of shade for those who like to stay out of the sun. Oh and did I say clean. Very clean and beautiful.

This beach is one in a million, basically because of being entirely empty. It's wide and long and it simply takes your breath away. While it's not as lively as Manuel Antonio, it provides an incredible sense of relaxation, quiteness. You feel as if it's all yours. An incredible hidden beach.

Black sand beach, very few people. Good surfing waves but strong undertow. The area is beautiful, the beach extends a long way. There are picnic tables and grills under the palm trees to escape the sun and heat.

This is a Beautiful beach but not for swimming. The rip tides are very dangerous but it is a long wild beach. It is NOT as nice right where the official beach is and the picnic tables, but it is easy to walk or drive further down the road. This is also the location f a good beach front restaurant,... More
