Actually, I did not go there to visit the wineries of good Albariño wine that are tasted there.
I went to see the building that sits in one of the best squares in Cambados, the largest and busiest
The palace, in the shape of an "L", has a crenellated watchtower on its shorter arm. In the outer corners of the building, the large circular balconies and the Renaissance decoration on the windows stand out. In the eastern corner of the wall there is an independent tower called Torre del Homenaje, on the façade of which there is a curious inscription that collects the values of the lords of Fefiñanes and a baroque arch-bridge at the north end of the pazo
Strolling through its rooms decorated with a renaissance atmosphere, and enjoying its immense garden is a charm and should not be missed.

Bodegas del Palacio de Fefinanes is a winery located in a palace, in the town called Cambados, in Pontevedra Province, in Galicia Region, in the North of Spain. Winery is located inside the palace of Fefiñans, which was built in the 16th Century. The palace is located in a square, where you can see also a church and a tower in a very nice complex. We visited this place and we could walk around vineyards or some rooms of the palace, where we could learn about the history of the place. In the shop of the winery, we tasted some liqueurs, which are very good. Very nice place.

We were driving from Portugal to Santiago and decided to detour slightly to visit the home of Albarino. It's a nice town and we chose Palacio de Fefinanes to do a tasting. The pricing for the tour and to taste their 3 wines when not part of a group was something utterly outrageous like EUR48 but after phoning the owner the lady working there was able to offer the two of us the group price of EUR12 per head. Still expensive, but it was a nice tour and the wines were really great. On this basis I would recommend coming here.

Fefinanes offers two tours, one of the winery, one of Gil Armada winery, and another of the actual building/palacio of Fefinanes. The winery tour was available in English, the palacio only in Spanish. Tourist Information booked the tour for us. It was a bit tricky trying to determine which entrance was for the palacio tour and which for the winery tour, but we eventually figured it out. The palacio was lovely, though it was difficult for us, with limited Spanish, to understand it all. The winery was also lovely, and incredibly, located right in town. The winery tour had 3 price levels, based on how many wines you prefer to taste; I thought it was a bit expensive.

The reviews here are all over the place regarding availability and cost of this tour, so I thought it'd be helpful to run down our experience. We walked in without reservations shortly after they reopened from the afternoon break. Maybe we were lucky that a small group had already set up a tour that afternoon, but it was no problem to just add us to the previously scheduled tour. The cost was based on the number of wines tasted--between $5 and $12, depending on whether you taste one, two, or three wines. We would highly recommend trying all three. They are three very different production processes, all three were delicious, and it was very interesting to compare the three wines (a fresh drink now style, an oaked style, and one produced with extended lees contact).
Our tour was very detailed and walked through the grounds and winemaking facilities. The huge old vines (some ~100 years old) were definitely a highlight. The tour was supposed to be in Spanish, but there were a ton of interesting facts that we couldn't pick up on with our terrible Spanish skills. The guide (and our Spanish-speaking tour mates) were very patient and relayed all the information in very good English.
Overall, this was a great tour conducted right in the heart of the historical core that we would highly recommend.

Whether you are interested in wine or not, this is worth a visit. Firstly it is in a beautiful and convenient location in Cambados. Secondly it has a fascinating history. Thirdly the three different Albariño wines are really good and you should find one you like. Lastly the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and speak good English. I really enjoyed my visit.

The Rias Baixas area of Spain is know for its predominant grape, Albarino (Al-bar-een-yo). Bodegas del Palacio de Fefinanes is located on Cambados' Plaza de Fefinanes, just a minute's walk from Hotel Real Ribodomar. We were hosted by Carmen, who was kind enough to show us the small winery and some of the vineyard area outside. Really enjoyed the wines! Stop in and have a taste..... Enjoy!

Not sure if there are 2 bodegas offering visits on same square. The one we were able to do offered a walk round the house and then onto large vineyard and into old wooded area. Very interesting.
