The location of the Torre de Dornes is strategically great and beautiful , but unfortunately it is not permitted to climb up the stairs . So enjoy the beautiful panorama , visit the church and the adjacent small capela .
There is a small free parking lot . But if you have parked your car down at the village entrance - before walking down back tour car , have a coffee/beer break at the "Segredo dos Templarios" terrace cafe : the view from the terrace is amazing .

This Templar tower is quite unique for its pentagonal shape. Apart from being very interesting probably by itself it would not be a reason to travel there but when you go there you can also visit the shrine and to admire the beautiful landscape. Enjoy!

One of the best spots for contemplating the old with the new and with the nature.

The old is the towers the new is the life that happens in this little village and the nature is all around in 360° live for you. Simply the best

If you're in the area Dornes is a mandatory stop. The Templar tower (now home to a church bell!) overlooks the river and surrounding area, allowing for magnificient views.

Great place for swimming and sunbathing. You can swim across the lake and visit the temple. Cafes nearby for a cuppa or bite to eat. Spent the whole day there.

Dornes is a small village, very sympatic and good for a pitoresc walk. Torre it is the touristic place!
But half day it is enough to see everything.
Activities in the river it is very nice in the summer time.
There is just one restaurant but very good one!

The tower is interesting, lots of history not much to see, but worth going to this nice village near the lake.

Leave your car outside the village and explore it by foot, at the staircase of the pentagonal tower you have a great view of the river from the tip of this peninsula.

The tower of Dornes will certainly surprise you by the form of his construction who is a “Pentagram”, doing so he is a very rare example of the military architecture of that time, and then we are talking about the time from 72 a.C. when he has been constructed on the base of an ancient roman tower. The tower was closed on the moment of our visit, perhaps you can find more info about it into the tourism office of the village. Anyhow nice piece of architecture.
