Our independent shore excursion group of Holland America passengers that met on cruise critic roll call has walked the small streets of Ostuni to see the architecture and art of the Duomo di Ostuni. From the outside, the architects discuss the church’s Gothic style with its elegant rose window that looks like a multi-spoke wheel to the uninformed. Our guide... More

Just 8 minutes walking from downtown and tourist office, follow "via cattedrale" and get it, inside there is a old woman talking and asking money like an offer to everybody but you have not to if you don't want.

We arrived at dusk and we had enough light to take some great photos before exploring the Duomo. It is great in the Autumn but I suspect in the heat of a summers day in July it may seem different. Definitely a walk as the climb can be steep but it should not be missed.

Walking through town is nice, but do stop at this little church as definitely worth going in as it has beautiful art work and ambiance.

If you like art, you have to visit it. We got a lot of info thanks to the owner of the gift shop just in front of the Duomo. Grazie mille!

Just lovely to sit here and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy wonderful coffee and cake - yum. The cathedral is very impressive - it is really beautiful in fact we went back a second time just to sit and enjoy our surroundings.

Do not miss Ostuni if in Puglia. It is one of the most beautiful of the hill top towns. It has a beautiful old Citadel section and the views from the wall are wonderful. There are a large number of nice restaurants in the old town, with basement restaurant sections literally built into the rock.
