A beautiful Gothic castle with an elaborately carved facade: a fine example of architecture and stonework in the Middle Ages.

This cathedral, built in the 13th century by an unknown master, is a sight to behold. Within stand the statues of its benefactors. They are incredibly life like, showing individual personalities. If you are in the area, do not pass this by.

It was bigger then it seemed in the photos. Very interesting architecture masterpiece. It is museum- cathedral and you can learn a lot from the information provided inside. It’s definitely worth visiting in Naumburg. I recommend to reserve 3-4 hours for sightseeing.

Naumburg's cathedral to me ranks right up there with Cologne, Ulm, or Bamberg - and it offers so much inspiration and insight! This is the place where Martin Luther himself installed the first "protestant" bishop. And of course home to Uta, that masterpiece of medieval...More
