Very pleasant environment. Really did a nice job on this old train station. The museum is interesting, the view is special I could spend more time here.

The old train station at Rolandseck has been through a number of incarnations since it was built to encourage the Rhine-Romanticsm tourist boom in the 1850s. In the 1980s, it did service as a concert hall: I was present once when a piano string ruptured whilst Sviatoslav Richter was playing. It was touch and go whether he'd come back on... More

A remodeled Beaux Arts train station, so beautiful they couldn't demolish it, became an exquisite modern art museum.

Weather made us do it, interest made us stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of art in an old train station , combined with modern architecture as a backdrop for modern art from various genres. Worth going to , worth remembering , worth coming back to.

Interesting museum on the banks of the Rhine in the old train station of Rolandseck. You should get a tour through the building as the well conceived architecture is extraordinary, combining the old station with the new buildings. Part of the tour are the permanent and temporary exhibitions. We recommend the bistro restaurant in the upper floor. Exquisite cuisine in... More

A wonderful old train station with a great Bar and Bistro and a breathtaking view to the river Rhine and the Seven Hills (Siebengebirge). The Arp Museum, built by Richard Meier is built above the station and worth a trip.

It is in Rolandseck, a small museum, it is good to plan a lunch at the restaurant at the same time, to make it an outing!
