This site contains the largest standing Buddha and the largest reclining Budhha in Myanmar. Under construction is the largest sitting Buddha - but won't be finished for several years yet. There is an excellent view of the countryside, but not if it's cloudy or raining.

Before going to the standing Buddha & Reclining Buddha, we stopped at Aung Sakkya Pagoda. It is a large style Pagoda & you can go inside & climb to the top to get magnificent views of the two larger monuments & surrounding area.

The biggest Buddha statue- building I ever saw . Was donated by one of the rich people used to live there . Huge building with art pieces inside . Free entrance.
Not to miss.

I guess the most incredible thing about this massive structure is the fact money could be found for its construction in an impoverished country.
In the late afternoon it took on a surreal feeling looking down on us with an all knowing expression of indifference. At 424ft its claimed to be the worlds tallest standing Buddha. It dominates everything and can be seen for miles.
I liked the spacious courtyard ideal for views of the sunset that turned the monument to gold.

As yet unfinished, the giant standing Buddha is a quirky attraction. Primarily full of local people, the 20+ levels depict the different levels of humanity from hell to Nirvana. It's unfortunate you can't see any views from inside.

At over 380 feet tall this statue ranks as the third tallest in the world. It is impressive! I have read that you can ascend inside the Buddha. That may well be so as there are windows evenly spaced on the forward-facing façade, however we got there late in the day and concentrated on photographing the exterior in the late afternoon sun. Couple the visit to the monastery (Maha Bodhi Tahtaung -- wherein the Buddha stands) with a visit to the equally large Reclining Buddha and the Aung Sakkya Pagoda.

We didn’t go inside as it is a fairly new structure but it is impressive from the outside.

In the area surrounding the structure there were rows and rows of Buddha’s which was good to photograph.

The highest Buddha statue in the world. Only standing in front of the huge statue I can feel how big is the dimension.

This buddha is so big, it’s awesome to take pictures here. In general there is a lot to see around the “park” - many temples and buddhas.

Very friendly locals live here.

In the middle of a forest there is the tallest buddha in the world. (which I did not re-check on Google yet). It is 31 stories high, 116m tall and you can go up im the inside. There you move through the different stages of a buddha life starting with the hell and ended up in Nirwana. Im front there is a huge reclining buddha with 95m long and another sitting one is currently in progress. It is really another planet and absolutely stunning.
