This is the extreme point of the land part, which goes from Malvan via Tarkarli upto Devbagh, where Tarkarli river meets Arabian Sea. From Tarkali distance is about 4-5 km. Beach is not suitable for swimming or surfing, but can be played in sand. From this place, sailors though boats go for an island, where water sports activities are available in ample. For serenity and tranquility, this beach is good.

This is one of the calm and serene beach of Maharashtra. It's a perfect spot for peaceful holidays. I had a very great experience of scuba diving here. Always prefer scuba diving in Devbagh instead of Tarkarli.

Dr. Kasavkar scuba diving and water sports (+91 8412876034) is best in Devbagh.

P.S. Garbage on the beach is bad for your mental health. Leave nothing on the beach but footprints.

Just wanted to summarize about the route , what to do in Devbaug and nearby.

> I generally dont like to visit such places on weekends as I always found heavy rush in all such places so i visited on weekdays.

Route from Pune
I took one night stop in Kolhapur as I was the only driver in my car; if you are ready to drive for around 10 odd hours you can also go directly.
I took Gaganbawda route and as per the expectation and people feedback it is indeed best route then Radhanagri-fonda ghat route. Road conditions are really good and you can maintain 80 to 100 till you touch mumbai -goa highway. Since Mumbai Goa highway work is going on you will find some bad patches in between.
After Kankavli either you can take achra route or go by Kasal route. I found Kasal route was good as compared to achra route.
You will go to malvan and take left for Devbaug. Distance from Kankavli to Malvan is around 30 KM. Since roads become narrow you need to little cautious while driving.

What to do in DevBaug ?
1> Sunami island : You will find various water sport activities there . Tjose are good as commpared to tarkarli.
2> Dolphin Viewing : You need to plan early morning visit for this before 10 and you need to hire a boat to go in deep sea. This was thrilling experience for us .
3> Scuba diving: Contact the hotel /resort whereever you are planning to stay in advance at least a week to check the condition on sea water. If water condition is not good there is no point in doing scuba diving. Unfortunately, we were not able to do that due to bad water condition.

What other places you see :
1> Visit Tarkarli beach
2> Sindhudurg fort .
3> Malvan : rock garden, Ganesh mandir ( people who uses "Kalnirnay" calendar knows very well about Jayant salgaokar, this mandir is setup by him)

Food: If you like fish you will be in heaven, if you are pure vegetarian you will still get authentic Maharashtrian food.

Network connectivity: Reliance Jio was working fine, Idea has no connectivity there.

While returning to Pune for lunch i took a stop at 'Hotel Ashish' after 5 km from kankavli .Dont go on the outer look of this hotel. You will really get good food ( Thali) here.

I think this is sufficient information to visit this place.

Happy Journey and nice stay at DevBaug .......

We reached Devbag by 7.30 AM as per advised by our Hotel person. we hired a boat and started ride. We saw Tsunami Ireland, sangam point and after that 4-5 dolphins.
We recommend start by early morning for dolphins sighting.

Those who don't like very crowded and dirty beaches can choose to go to Devbagh beach. The place is like heaven for sea lovers , it has very neat and clean silver sand beaches also one can njoy all water sports like parasailing , scuba diving , jet ski, motor boat at very reasonable cost.

The local people are very friendly and not yet very commercialised , the sea food they serve in hotel is awesome.

Must spend at least 2 days to njoy everything .

People used to know about Tarkarli, but the much better beach is at Devbagh, it's nearby area (3 Km. from Tarkarli). It is clean and lonely beach without any crowd to spoil your holidays with your family and friends.

It is one of the best beaches in Maharashtra. It is quite clean beach and very clear water. If one wants to enjoy in sea water and eat the local fish cuisines this is the place. Travelling here is a bit difficult. The nearest railway station is Kudal and it takes around 2-4 hrs to reach here depending upon the media one choose. ST buses too are available. The roads in Devbag are narrow and hence travelling in four wheeler during peak season can be time consuming.
Once can see lots of sea creatures like star fish, smaller crabs, sea shells etc alive at the beach. It’s fun to touch them. There are many home stays available on the beach itself. And staying on the beach is a must to enjoy those waves and sound from the room itself. It’s a vast beach and may take you half an hour to stroll from one end to other…. But then do it! Especially in the morning hours during sunrise… watching the fishermen catching fishes, sorting it …. You can stuck a deal too!!
The uncle at my home stay told us that the beach was around 500 meters inside… now over the years the water level is slowly increasing because of lots of dumping, no dredging in the sea. Devbag is a island with connectivity from one side.
Lots of water sports are available here. If you stay in Devbag then all these are at walking distance. The charges for all the sports are quite high. Water scooter, boating, banana ride, bumper ride, parasailing, scuba diving…. all are here for enjoying. Believe me if you are an adult and fit then you should try all, just come out of your comfort level. I have seen a 73 year old man and his wife doing scuba diving!!!
The Rs 2000 boat ride to see the Dolphin was fun! I would suggest to find a partner to reduce the cost as the charges are per boat and the boat can accommodate around 8 comfortably. They take you to various spots like Tsunami island, Nivti beach, Bogwe Beach, golden rock (the rocks near Nivti beach) which looks golden during sunrise etc. Though we had gone in the morning we could hardly see one or two dolphin’s tale 2-4 times that’s all, hard luck.

One of the cleanest water in coastal line of Maharashtra. However due to black/brown sand, water appears greenish instead of blue. You can expect a underwater visibility of ONE meters. There is a tsunami island which gets submerged during high tide. During this high tide this small island lagoon becomes perfect for swimming, kayaking and other water sports. Best part is price. All the water sports are much cheaper than the beaches of alibaug/goa.

Make sure you do not get into trap of local scuba diving team. I have done it in few of the best places across world and found here in tarkarli/devbagh, it is extremely unsafe. All the divers are completely incompetent. Forget about about emergency responses, they don't even know signs to be used when you are under water. I am very much sure that if they will not be stopped, some day a fatality will occur.
