Aryadurga is the goddess of the local village Devi Hasol and Kuldevi of many Karhade Brahmins. Devi hasol is a very small village at approx 25 kms away from Rajapur town. The most beautiful aspect of this temple is that the ambience is very serene and the atmosphere is devoid of any noise pollution. As such, when you sit in front of the goddess after "taking darshan" you can comfortably switch over to a transcendental meditative state. We visited this place, in morning time, after visiting Kankaditya Mandir and Mahakali Temple travelling at State highway 4, taking left from Bhalavari phata. Road was narrow but good. No other visitor was available at that time. The temple is located between beautiful mountains and greenery. There is Bhakt Nivas at the temple. You can book your Stay, Food and Other things related to the pooja by calling the organiser. Padhye family which stays at the Temple prepares delicious food and breakfast, if you inform the trust authority before.

Went to Devi temple in February stayed at the Bhakta Nivas. Very good arrangement made by Santosh guruji. They have 4 rooms over there with hot water. One room has air conditioner if you are visiting during hot months. 2 people can sleep on the bed. They do provide pillows, bed cover and bed sheets. Please take your towel and bath accessories. Very quiet place and felt very good.

Arya Durga is the presiding diety of many in a sect of Brahmins called the "Karhade Brahmins"...my grandfather and a few of his community friends formed a trust to get together people of this community. They worked over the last 15 years to build a "Bhakt Niwas" opposite the Devi temple as the temple is as such in the middle of nowhere..approx 10 kms from the nearest town of Bhu in Rajapur taluka.

The temple is supposed to be what is called pandav kalin..very clean and with a simple elegant idol of the Devi (goddess).

Takes you back to your roots..

I always visit this temple whenever i visit my village. A sense of peace and tranquilty. It is around 20kms from Rajapur. however due to erratic public transport, you need your own vehicle to visit it. facilities here are good as per village standards. There is a huge fair in december/Jan which is must visit.

Devi Arya Durga: Goddess of the local village DEVI HASOL and Kul Devi (FAmily Goddess) of many KARHADE BRAHMINS. Devi hasol is a small village of population roughly of 500+ near Rajapur Village (30 kms approx) and Ratnagiri (50 kms Approx.)
I have seen this beautiful temple transform from Nothing to Very beautiful place. I have been visiting this temple since 1992. Few years back this place was a deserted place with no traces of humans upto miles and many Kms. Local people and few Karhade Brahmins of which Goddess is a family goddess formed a trust to serve goddess. The name of the trust is SHRI ARYA DURGA TRUST:DEVI HASOL. Giving the full contact and other details after this review. The temple is located between beautiful mountains and greenary. There are different ways to reach this place.
1) Take a train from Mumbai (Dadar) to Goa Train number 01033. This train departs from CST mumbai from night 00:20 and Reached RAJAPUR ROAD station at next morning 9:40 am. There are Auto Rickshaws that take you to the temple at about 800 -900 (approx). The temple is far away from RAJAPUR Station and might take 1:30-2 hours.
2) Pune-Rajapur: there is a MSRTC bus from Pune at 11:30 pm which reaches RAJAPUR next morning around 7:30 am. From there you can take a Auto Ricksahaw (charges around 500-600).

3) Mumbai-Bhalavli MSRTC bus: This is the best mode to reach the temple. MSRTC bus departs from Mumbai Central ST depot at 17:30 and Reaches Arya Durga Temple the next morning 615 am. Though the schedule arrival time at the temple is 4:00 am, Mumbai traffic makes it impossible for the bus to get out of Mumbai and thus the bus finally reaches the temple @615 am. The best thing about this mode of transport is that you get down just outside the temple. Also MSRTC buses are the safest to travel in. The only bad thing about the travel is NOT WELL MAINTAINED MSRTC buses. The bus is way too old and not maintained making a JERKY and NOISE ENTERTAINING Journey, but still from the point of safety this is the best option to choose from. The ticket rate is 630 rs pp.
The same bus departs from Bhalavali at 16:00 and pick ups at Arya Durga mandir at 16:08 (to be exact) and reached Mumbai Central the next morning 3:30 am. The bus staff is very punctual in time.

Services at the temple: There is BHAKT NIVAS at the temple. You can book your Stay, Food and Other things related to the pooja by calling the VYAVASTHAPAK (organiser).
PADHYE family which stays at the Mandir prepares delicious food, Tea and even Breakfast. But all this only if you inform the trust authority before. All this at a very minimal cost. We three of our family had morning Tea, Breakfast (Poha) and Lunch (Puran poli, Roti, Sabzi, Dal and Rice) at just 440 Rs.
If you want to perform Abhishek at the Temple you have to inform the organiser so that he can prepare everything as there are many people (now) who perform Abhishek.
The BHAKT NIVAS (rooms) are very clean and tidy. You get Hot water for Bath, A bed, Good quality Pillows and SOLAPURI chadar. The Stay at night costs Rs. 500 (the new rooms). Do carry your own Towel, Soap etc etc. (Just FYI).

As this place is still isolated you will a find a never experienced Peace and Calmness at the temple. You can even spot FOX(s) nearby. If you want to really have a best time. Visit the temple when it is dark . Sit before the goddess looking into her eyes. You will really find that she is looking back at you. As it is Deaf Silent nearby it gives a unique experience to meditate and BE WITH YOURSELF (but it needs a good amount of GUTS :) as it is way too dark and silent outside).
I will recommend a night stay with family and friends for the best experience and small picnic.

A simple temple, majorly owned by a local family. The temple has a basic structure. It has shrines dedicated to various gods & goddess. But the central shrine is dedicated to Goddess Kali.

Aryadurga devi, Devihasol आर्यादुर्गा देवी देवीहसोळ, is a Hindu temple situated in Devihasol village and it's a very famous temple in Rajapur taluka, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra state, India. Goddess ARYADURGA is the Kuldevi of many Karahde Brahmin and since my wife is a Karhade Brahmin we visit this place at least once a year.
I have visited all major Hindu shrines/temples in India but I haven't found the peace of mind that one finds here. The best part of this temple is the simplicity of its structure and surroundings. The temple has been kept/preserved it its original form and has a small and simple guest house to accommodate over-night visitors. It is 18 km from Rajapur, 52 km from Ratnagiri and 380 km from Mumbai.
Locally available sand stone has been used for the construction of this mandir and its pavement while mangalore tiles adorn the roof. The only negative point that I have found is that the maintenance is of a poor level mainly due to paucity of funds. Although the list of patrons posted on the board outside shows so many Munbaites yet no one seems to be coming forward to gather enough funds.
The most beautiful aspect of this temple is that the ambience is very serene and the atmosphere is devoid of any noise pollution. As such, when you sit in front of the goddess after "taking darshan" you can comfortably switch over to a transcendental meditative state. This effect can not be measured in terms of tonnes of money. It's simply awesome.
Lastly, I would like to reiterate that the best part of this temple is that there's no commercialism of any kind here. If you tie up with the Poojari a day in advance he will perform a completely satisfying Pooja for you spending as much time with you as much you desire and even if you pay him Rs. 500/- he will say that it's too much. Hats off to this culture.
I'll wind up with a word of caution..visit this Mandir if you want to have a great divine/spiritual experience but do not go here if you want to see some great architectural structures.
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्ति-रूपेण संस्थिता।
