Never mind the chocolates, all i want to say is that the AG Mark Coorg Honey sold EVERYWHERE is FAKE!!!! FAKE!!!! its very viscous, and also i did the "honey test" which proved me right, the honey is FAKE!!!!! Sadly between all of us friends we brought back 14 bottles!!!!! waste of money.

This place is known for the local homemade Coorg chocolates. There are so many varieties of chocolates its difficult to even taste all.
Prices are decent and packaging is very well made.

Don't miss this store. You will find everything, the best coffee, and chocolates, coorg honey and hand made natural soaps. What not everything that you expect. It's very close to the Madikeri Bus stand. We shopped lot of things there for us and our friends and family.

They have a wide variety of chocolates- more than 10 flavours such as paan, coffee, vanilla, honey. My Favourite is the chilly flavored chocolate.
They also have but chocolates - almond, peanut, kismis, hazelnut. Prices are on the higher side and minimum amount they told us was 500 gms. Which can go up to 600-700 Rs.
They are generous with sampling.
One odd thing was that they pushed us to buy their shirts, saying they were clearing their stocks.
Don't go there expecting to buy 100 gms, you will have to shell out for more.

Enter only if you are in desperate need of chocolates in a sufficient quantity.
As we entered, the bearded fellow generously offered us chocolates to "try". And once we tried, we were stuck into buying!
There are varieties of chocolates and the quality is good too, but there is minimum quantity fixed for buying. You cannot buy 100 grams, in most cases the minimum is 300 grams. And if you want 'assorted', there are separate rules.
Proceed at your own risk.
There is a spice shop 'Coorg Greens' in the same complex, here too small quantities are not available.
The shops are below Ambika Upahar Restaurant.

Tried some of the chocolate and it was reasonable but not really special. There are a number of places which sell homemade chocolate which are reasonably similar although now and then you may stumble upon one which the chocolate may be more to you liking, like I did.
Minimum purchase is 250 grams, which was too much for me as a solo traveller.

Not the best place to buy...These are similar chocolates which you will find in rest of the Coorg, They will not allow you to try different flavors and are bit rude. High prices

This is a typical tourist scam straight out of the book. All the tour operator buses stop here and offload tourist to shop at this place, for which the tour operator gets commission. Secondly the chocolates are way overpriced (starts at 900Rs) and the minimum you need to buy is 250grms. Finally there is a spice shop attached to this and is by the same management, they sell everything from isabgol to saffron, which I am sure does not grow in Madikeri, so all they do is buy stuff from outside and sell as local produce.

Avoid this supposedly TO DO activity in Madikeri.
