Private Mercara Coorg Coffee and Spice Estate Tour

62 reviews
Mercara Gold Estate is a beautiful 12-acre estate located 8 KM from Madikeri. Whilst coffee was growing here since the 1960s we acquired it in 1998 and began a process of transformation by organising it into a well laid out farm with a wide array coffee, spices and fruit trees. Our vision was to develop Mercara Gold Estate into a fully-integrated unit, we began processing and roasting our coffees on the estate. We follow all time-tested processes with passion to produce our own range of boutique style coffee and well-balanced blends.

Visited this place on 31st December 2020. A huge rocky hill covered by mist and having a temple of Shiva at its base. It was fun to scale the rocks to a certain height and feel the mist air. Recommended for Adventurists, couples, families and just about anyone. However please note to respect the temple premises and not litter.

You should take a SUV to reach this place as some road patches are broken after rain. Place is very less visited so you will like peace and quietness at this place. We visited in Feb so it is best time to visit the place. However if you visit just after monsoon (Sept - Nov) you will see mountains in lush green foliage ..

Kota Betta hill is at the altitude of 5400 feet. It is 22 KM distance from Madikeri. It is located in Madapur. It is also 3rd highest peak in Coorg district. Kota Betta means fort hill. Actually there was a fort on top of the hill. Overall the trek is 10 km far. So be prepared if you wish to trek. On the way you find beautiful water streams and falls. Also find rock houses said that were built during Pandavas time of Mahabharata. On the top of the hill there is a Lord Shiva temple. Overall its a great trek. It is good to go as a group. All the best and have a nice journey.l
