This view is breathtaking. It can be hiked in about an hour round trip, but we took it as a leisurely stroll for an wonderful afternoon. The first hundred meters or so are quite steep, but after that it switchbacks until the top, so it's a reasonable hike for anyone of any age. There are cute little (poisionous) red and... More

Fairly easy walk to the top. Lovely surroundings and great scenery, bit a long the way and beautiful views from the top. Toadstools everywhere - just a shame people before us felt the need to destroy most of them. Well worth it.

Good for pussy walks or if you want to pretend you did something to earn that meal/beer/wine. If you carry a small child up you might even break a sweat.

Yes , the tourist information may advise you that it is a 30 walk on flat This is Kiwi measures . It starts with a steep climb up the road then winding route through the forest. It is a must do in Hamner Springs. The views are stunning and the walk is truly refreshing .

Relatively short walk and easy to lovely views. Did it one morning after breakfast as a warm up to climbing a mountain later in the day

Lovely walk, a mix of sloped and steep. My five year old managed with a few stops. Quite shady under the trees on the way so take a jacket and be careful of ice early in the day. Stunning views and nice and sunny at the top with quite a few places to sit. Worth the effort, definitely take a... More

Located at the top of Hanmer Springs with street parking available, this walk to the top takes about 30 minutes with photo stops. There is a mixture of steep and mild rises as the path zigzags up the hill. The views are beautiful especially on a sunny day. Seating along the way and at the top. Comfortable walking shoes required.

Lovely forest with a number of varied walks - the trees and views are absolutely beautiful. Shame we couldn't spend longer there.
