Just came back from Agia Pelagia, stayed there for 9 days with my daughter. She found this area because it is relative close to Heraklion airport and she flew in from Europe. I am from US. For our first 5 days, we stayed in a expensive luxury airbnb, later stayed in a smaller one for rest of 4 days. The area is near the sea, water is clear and warm, the restaurants are all very good. The cons are the area's roads are very narrow and winding and a lots of dirt roads, the first airbnb is above the hills, we had to drive up to very scary dirt road. The second airbnb's bedroom and shower condition is worse than two star hotel. Beaches are relative small and very crowded. At night, it felt isolated and lonely with wind blowing. In the weekend night, the nearly by restaurants's music was loud and wouldn't stop until 2am.

Crowded but I don't mind. "Sand" was very rough, like sand for construction. No beach bars with the sunbeds, you pay separately so no toilets. You have to go to the restaurants for a bathroom. The water was very clean but you have big rocks and cliffs inside so you have to be very careful. I absolutely do not get why this place is so popular. There are so many better beaches on this island.

Small but busy, you'd need to get there early! Nice little benches, coves and rocks to sunbathe on for the hard core!

Best thing about this beach is the multitude of fantastic restaurants that sit on it
It's simply far too busy, noisy and crowded.
If you're looking for relaxation go elsewhere

We stayed in a nearby hotel and used the beach and the cove as our base every day for snorkelling. There are so many fish! Most swimmers have no idea! Yes the beach is crowded and noisy and beach-shoes are recommended but we headed to the rocks to enter the water. Every day was amazing. It’s worth hiring a boat to go and explore. There’s so much more to see.
So many friendly places to eat. We didn’t have a bad lunch.
We had a fabulous time.

Take a snorkel and mask!!

In April, not much is happening in this small beach town. There is some high end resort at the point of it. However, it seems remote and would be an ideal place if you want something off the beaten path.

Been here several times and fallen in love with Agia Pelagia. Beautiful place with warm blue seas and the generosity of the Greek people. Great place to visit for couples and families. Fresh seafood and traditional dishes.
