I believe it takes place every evening at 8:30 during the summer: you can listen to the history of the infamous tympanum of the abbatial church, and this is funny and educational. In French though.

Central place in Conques and nice abbey/church. Above the door is a beautiful but slightly weathered timpaan present. A description is in the church only in France. There are extensive descriptions on the internet.

The Abbey is located along one of the many routes to St. James to Santiago de Compostela. It has minimal exterior decorative features. It is not to be missed while in Conques.

Stunning cathedral in the middle of a stunning French village. A must see if your in the area. Especially nice on a hot day, as it's so cool inside. 😏

Soulages work is really mesmerizing. This time seen with early morning light it is more subtle in entensity but add depth in the thickness of the glasswork. A pleasure

Well off the beaten track, but simply fantastic when you consider how old and how remote this abbey is. The museum on the side with the treasure of the abbey is small and the treausre itself could be better lit within the displays. However, this...More
