If you're in town, it's worth to step in and have a look. However, if you need to travel a bit for this church, it may not be worthwhile.

The church is somewhat dark inside but reflects in many way the climate, the time of construction and the aging process

Worth a detour to see this church. It was buried under sand dunes for some time, which has helped preserve it. The history of the church is explained inside with photos, showing what it looked like before it was uncovered and restored. Austere interior with...More

From the minute you enter you are taken back in time. Beautiful stained glass windows and amazing paintings. I would recommend a visit if you get the chance.

We like to visit places that are medieval hutches and buildings. This church has loads to see. The stone work has lasted the vast time it has been standing very well.

Nothing to write home about except that it is strange to think that church was buried for decades under a sand dune 3 centuries ago.

Discovered this historical church on a trip into town from cruiser liner. No mention of it given on board, nor it's place in history as a Pilgrim resting point on the Way to St. James. Now a UNESCO world heritage site, for several centuries it...More

The basilica was lost in the 18th century when it was covered in sand from the local dunes. It is now almost completely restored—the tower is still missing the very top—and is now a Unesco World Heritage site. The church isn't large, so you don't...More
