One of the largest churches in the region although it does not really match up to the major churches in Sofia. Much of the ceiling has lost its frescoes and is now bare plaster. There are frescoes surviving on the side walls and the stained glass windows are interesting being distinctly Art Deco reflecting the age of the building. Free to enter.

This Cathedral is not very old, but it’s an impressive building in the centre. It’s the most famous church in the city. Our apartment was nearby so we could visit it easily and saw it in the evening, too. It’s nicely decorated inside, we liked it.
