    Good lake but !!
Venna Lake is the most popular tourist attraction of Mahabaleshwar. Though the lake and boating facilities were good but the surrounding area was quite dirty. There were too many hawkers around and stray cows moving around freely and disturbing the tourists. It was very shocking that authorities were not doing anything to improve such a popular place.

Unsanitized life jackets on a beautiful sunset ride!
They charge you Rs.600/- for 6 people in a paddle boat or Rs.400/- for 4 people in a row boat. The ride in the lake especially during sunset is quite pleasant. However there is no investment made in cleaning the life jackets that you are made to wear before starting your trip. They are so dirty & it is left to your imagination when they were last sanitized. With Covid just behind our backs & exorbitant charges for the ride, I don't think it should be challenging for them to invest some amount in washing these life jackets at regular intervals.

Enjoy the boating in calm waters
Venna Lake is a large lake located in the heart of Mahabaleshwar. It is surrounded by hills on all sides. The lake is around 90 feet deep and a very picturesque site. Mahabaleshwar Boat Club provides boating facilities both via paddle and row boats. You have both options - self rowed or helper rowed boat. I would recommend boating in Venna Lake if you are visiting Mahabaleshwar

    Could be better.
Venna Lake in Mahabaleshwar, set amidst the lush backdrop of the Western Ghats, is often mentioned as a must-visit spot for those seeking scenic beauty. However, my recent experience with the boating facility at the lake was far from ideal. The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the overwhelming chaos. A lack of proper organization meant that visitors were left to fend for themselves amidst aggressive touts. These touts, eager to make a quick buck, were blatantly overcharging for the boating experience, taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists. Safety should be paramount in any boating activity. However, at Venna Lake, the provided life jackets were a disappointment. Not only were they wet, but they also emitted an unpleasant odor, making one question their maintenance and hygiene standards. This concern was further heightened by the condition of the boats. The rattling sounds and evident wear and tear on the boats did not inspire confidence. That being said, once on the lake, the panoramic views did offer a brief respite. The expansive waters against the backdrop of the hills made for a serene sight, momentarily distracting from the disarray onshore. Yet, it was hard to fully appreciate the beauty with the shadow of mismanagement looming large. What could have been a tranquil and refreshing experience was marred by the lack of oversight and organization. In conclusion, while Venna Lake's natural beauty is undeniable, the boating experience leaves much to be desired. Until proper measures are taken to address the management issues, visitors might be better off enjoying the lake from its banks.

Venna lake is the one of the most popular and visited tourist spot in Mahabaleshwar which is located at a distance of around 2km from bus stand. This is famous lake located in Mahabaleshwar for boating activities. One can choose among rowboats and pedal boats. This lake was constructed by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj in 1842, who was the King of Satara. It was aimed to create a water reservoir for the Mahabaleshwar city. Lake is beautiful, calm and serene .Though for tickets one need to stand in queue for more than half an hour or long as it is always busy at this place. They charge around 600 INr for half an hour and so on extra for more than that. You would be accompanied by Navaigator who would explain you about the area and row your boat for that particular time.Near by you have lot of street food options. Also near by points horse riding can be done and lot of activities for tourists.

This Lake is perfect example that how Commercialization can Ruin the Natural beauty of the place

Food stalls everywhere, Street vendors , on top of that no Parking.

Although the place is beautiful and Serene but not the place it was happened to be.

We went on a weekday and it is worth taking a rowing boat unless you have atleast 2 energetic people to peddle. You may want to go before 11 am or after 5 pm to have less sun over the top
