About
Kuza Cave offers a unique experience for adventurous nature-lovers. Discover the ancient limestone cave and crystal clear healing mineral water pool. See artefacts from the cave and a timeline of Swahili history going back to the beginning of our story as humans originating in East Africa. You will walk across a small bridge and a few steps to the base of the well-lit cave to find a large pool formed by a subterranean river. The area is a wildlife sanctuary for dozens of monkeys, birds, butterflies and bushbabies. Our Culture Centre invites you to enjoy Swahili music, drumming and dancing with our onsite artists. Stay for the day and learn the secrets to Swahili cooking. You will learn how to gently blend Zanzibar spices and make fresh coconut milk curry. Don't miss out on discovering this hidden gem tucked away in the tropical jungle of Jambiani - you will be surprised!

Love setting but quite steep to get into caves once in 2 members of our group got stung by wasps whilst swimming. You can change out of your wet swimmers whoever no locks on doors so need someone outside to hold door closed.

Aight boom, this is a magical place yeah? You step into the (frigid) water and you try to take it all in, it’s like something from a movie.
When your eyes eventually adjust to the darkness & your body to the cool waters, you find yourself just getting lost in all the detail; how clear the water is, how luminescent the algae is, the rock formations…
Then you feel something chomping on you. Not intensely, kind of like a horse fly or a really thirsty mosquito. You scratch at it and come out with a tiny little translucent worm. It’s at that point that you decide whether you can live with these (harmless) little nips at your tush or not.
My own threshold was around 15mins of being these creatures’ little snack, then I had to get out of there.
It’s definitely worth a turn though, just bring diving shoes/boots. The rocks are very sharp and could ruin your holiday wry easily.

Visited the Kuza Cave and went for a swim. It's very cold at first! But it's mesmerizing from the minute you get there till you're leaving. Once you get acclimatized to the water temp you simply don't want to get out. This has got to be the clearest water I've ever seen in a cave. A must visit!

We arrived at the end of a rainstorm, which meant the paths were a bit more slippery, but there was no one yet at the cave. It is a steep climb across rocks down into the cave and rock shoes proved very helpful.
The water was pristine and lovely to swim in. My adventurous teenage son was bitten by one of the harmless water bugs (like a mosquito bite), after swimming all over the cave. The water is much deeper than it seems, despite being so clear.
There were showers, toilets and a change room at the Cultural Centre.

Our tour guide took us to this cave during our tour and it was a pleasant surprise. After a short trek down some steep stairs and stones, you can take a dip into the freshwater in the cave. You can do this as part of a tour but don’t need to make this a destination on its own as you’ll only spend 15-20 mins here.

A very peaceful, quiet and calm cave where you can hear the water dripping. There is also a swahili hut on site that u can enter and have a look around.

The Kuza Cave is in a large sink hole near Jambiani. It is quite suitable for taking a swim which can be recommended as kind of a tranquil and peaceful experience. The water is not cold and there is a changing room available. On site are also some cultural experiences such explanations about the cave, an active Artist’s pavilion, a small swimming pool for chilling, and a Swahili cooking class. Altogether a nice trip for a few hours change of scenery from the gorgeous Jambiani beach.

Hello !
I would like to visit this natural cave. My question is if free or you have to pay something to swim inside? How much is it ? How can I get there? I’m at Coral Rock Hotel now. Many thanks for your help.

I think the entry to the cave was probably $5 or $10 USD. Which supports the school on the property. You don't have to pay to get into the water but there are little critters that may/may not bite you. I was at Coral Rock hotel too! You'll need a driver, the cave isn't too fast but not walk-able.
