If you like history, you will love this visit. Very touching description of the events in the Anglo - Zulu battles and the sad loss of life.

Dalton, our guide, took us through the battle with a balance of his entertaining and serious style. The whole was contextualised on both sides but I found the internecine royal intrigue on the Zulu side (going back to Shaka) fascinating. I love history so I...More

This is not a period of history that I knew well so it was fascinating to learn about the British ignominious defeat on this battlefield. Many white cairns mark the graves of the many British soldiers killed in the battle against the Zulu warriors.

Fabulous guided tour of the battlefield. Stunning scenery and very moving history. Very well worth having a guide who can explain what is being viewed.

A wonderful place - you can see the way the battle unfolded but it particularly comes to life when you have a native guide who can explain the way events unfolded. It is a place of some scenic beauty - well worth a visit.

Rorkes Drift was very disappointing. Obviously none of the buildings are original but they didn't even rebuild them on the same plot, and the landscape has been changed to accommodate tourists. Isandlwana however was... More
