I remember the days when Bridge Road was an exciting hub of shops and retail outlets, perfect for nabbing a bargain. Those days are gone, and Bridge Road is now probably the last place I would think to go for shopping. You can tell that it's suffering from the abundance of vacant shop fronts as retailers gradually close permanently or... More

I found all shops and restaurants easily accessible, the trams were frequent and plenty of stops at Bridge Road

So close to Melbourne's CBD, Bridge Road has all one could need except the most special of specialty items, where a five-minute tram trip to the city may be needed. From supermarkets to locksmiths to sex shops, Bridge Road has it all. Clothing shops are in abundance, as are bookshops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

We love going to Bridge Road when we are in Melbourne. Not only are there many outlet stores, there are also great cafes and restaurants. As the tram runs through Bridge Road, it is very easily accessible, wherever you are staying. Can highly recommend for a relaxing shopping morning or afternoon.

If you catch a tram from Flinders Street heading East #75 and go past the beautiful Treasury Gardens and Captain Cook's Cottage, you cross Hoddle Street and then you are into Bridge Road Richmond. Bridge Road has an eclectic range of shops - particularly specialist fashion shops and unique gift shops. Well worth a visit as it is so close... More

My daughter and I travelled to Melbourne to look for a formal dress that we didn't want to see mass produced in a large department store or chain store. First stop was Chapel Street Melbourne. Unfortunately whilst there were lots of designer stores & chain stores there were very few boutiques that sold formal dresses that would appeal to a... More

I used to live here years ago. There were many useful shops and you could get just about anything here. Now it is overpriced boutiques and cafes.

Really sad what has happened to Bridge Rd on the back of what I can only assume is prohibitively high rents - used to be a bustling thriving shopping destination, famous for it's bargains & outlet stores. Now a walk down Bridge Rd is very dull indeed, so many empty shops! Certainly won't be fighting any crowds.

Lots of shoe and men's wear suit and shirt shops. This area is redeveloping as there are apartment buildings going up and the area is being revived. There are cafes/coffee shops, and Red Cross op shop, women's and men's wear, supermarket, gift shops and a really nice organic food shop worth a visit. The area mostly along Bridge Road and... More
