About
Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Mandala Wines has proudly crafted wines of character and finesse since 1999. Established by the Smedley family, Mandala has two sites under vine: one at Dixons Creek, where the 5* James Halliday-rated Cellar Door complex and glasshouse DiVino Ristorante is based, and the other at Yarra Junction. Both sites produce wine varietals that excel in the region; Dixons Creek is home to a mix of classic varieties, while the Yarra Junction vineyard was carefully selected for premium pinot noir production. Mandala Wines merges the qualities that make up the balance of ‘the good life’ – the love of family, food and wine; the best recipe for embracing and savouring life.

Delightful setting, whether it is sitting outside under the shade of garden umbrellas or in the restaurant. Interesting menu which catered for a variety of dietary requirements. Lovely selection of food to share. Wine list is as good too.

Our new favourite winery in the Yarra Valley. After an amazing lunch w e went into the cellar door. Very cheap tastings for the amount and variety offered. No charge when bottles bought. Some good sale items to. Best of all was our Cellar master. Friendly , so knowledgeable and proud of his wines. A delight to listen to. Topped off a great day.

My friends and I had a day driving around the Yarra Valley. We went to De Bortoli for lunch but we hadn't made reservations. Back in the car, down the road to Mandala Wines. What a lovely place! A beautiful big modern space in a delightful garden, with a good lunch menu and delicious wines.
We ate:
Bread and Olive to start.
Entree: 2 slow cooked pork belly and a ham hock with chicken liver terrine.
Main Course:
Wood smoked potato gnocchi, baby barramundi and the rabbit ravioli.
Wow! All of it was fresh, clean, and delicious.
We drank a champagne (fish) a Chardonnay (gnocchi) and a rose (rabbit ravioli).
All the other diners seemed very happy, and the staff were delightful.
I'm looking forward to sampling their winter menu.

My husband & I went to Mandala restaurant today. We should have know things were not right. We had been to 6 wineries over lunch time period without a booking & they were all booked out. When we arrived there were several empty table which doesn't mean much as they may have been reserved. We asked for a table for 2 & if we could sit outside. We were told they could give us a table if we waited a minute & no there was no table service outside. We sat on a couch & waited 15 minutes with which we were told your tables ready in the corner just sit down & I come over & give you water & menu. We sat & waited 10 minutes trying to get there attention. Finally we asked if we could have menu as we watched food being taken outside. We asked the young girl if there was in fact table service to which she said yes of another menu which is just what we wanted. We got up & went outside we were told again we will be out with your menu's. We waited 10 minutes more at which time it was 2.30pm my husband got up & went inside to order & pay for our wine & cheese & meat platters. OMG $70 for 2 glasses of red wine 5 biscuits on a cheese platter & meats we have had 2 other antipasto at a price of $40 for a huge platter we couldn't finish at 2 other wineries near by. Service 0 food 0 cost 0 venue is quiet nice.

Went with a couple of friends for a wine tasting. This was the best one we went to on the day. Kelly and Leo were great. Kelly went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Kelly spoke with passion about the wines and also told us about the deals without being pushy. Totally won us over to mandala wines, very happy with the wines we walked away with. Very happy and will be back.

A lovely evening at a modern restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Food was both hearty and fresh with unusual twists. Quantities were reasonable and the prices fair. Staff were helpful with our choices and attentive. Service a little slow at times but as we were there for the evening it didn't really bother us. The menu is not extensive but delicious. Not a menu suited to children though. Great wine selection and dreamy desserts!

I had the entree of crispy filo pastry which was tasty and nicely presented but not great value at $18; the size of the serve was little more than a mouthful. The restaurant price of the wine by the glass was excessive given the bottle price at the cellar door. The ambience was pleasant and the restaurant offered good views of the landscaped surroundings however I think some of the prices need to be reviewed.

Ive been to Mandala wines previously and it had left such a great impression that I decided to come back and celebrate my 25th birthday here. Unfortunately this time round I was very unsatisfied.

Ive booked a table for 20 and had 2 cancellations at the last min and was happy to pay for that however no one had inform us of that at the start because it would have been nice to know so that I had the option to order those two extra entree and mains for the guest to share considering everyone was complaining about the food.

I had the rainbow trout salad and it was not very fresh at all. My pork jowl was full of fat so I had little to eat there and the fries were not cooked properly. The salmon was very very fishy and the octopus salad was just a salad with minimal octopus.

It was such a shame cause the first time round the food were very fresh which was what i raved about to my guest prior to the invite.

Service was quick however waitress was very clumsy, nearly dropping a plate on a guest and dropped a dirty fork on another guest.

Standards had dropped from a 9/10 to a 5/10 a year later. What a shame. Don't think I would come back considering I had a 2 course lunch earlier at De Bortoli and that was cheaper, more filling and much much more delicious. Only thing that was still the same? the beautiful view.

Not the best start to my birthday but thankgod my friends were understanding.
