An excellent pint served by Mike, brewed in the cellar below, with guest beers on the backboard. This as a real community pub. The venue is fairly basic and all the better for it, (saw dust on the floor), but does serve excellent pork scratchings....More

Being a Margate resident I've been meaning to find the Four Candles for a while. Finally got there yesterday and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. It started well and we were being taken through the ales on offer when a lady arrived, I assume...More

Dear Ba1drick, I'm sorry about this. It's certainly not something that's typical of service at the Candles. I don't want to make excuses. This incident doesn't ring a bell with me and all I would say is that sometimes things can get a bit confused...More

One of a number of micro brewers around the county all of which are offering excellent beer at really good prices but the only problem I have with them is a completely different set of opening times at all of them so you are never...More

Hello Penfolds, I'm sorry you were closed when you called round here. It's true that the micros all have their own opening hours. It's because we are small, independent businesses who do our own thing. Whether that makes us "amateurs" - talented or otherwise -...More

A delight indeed! We don't live in UK, but spent a night in Broadstairs to meet up with a real ale mate of ours who had never visited the Four Candles - Thumbs up all round! Wish I lived up the road from it! Thanks...More

I have just returned from a short break with friends in Broadstairs, and one of the bars /pubs we visited was the Four Candles which is a micro brewery located in a backstreet not far from the Station. There are no fruit machines and no...More

We thought we would try the smallest micro-brewery. We spent an entertaining hour or two trying the beers and nibbles. The other drinkers were friendly and the lady serving very helpful with samples and advice. Great value to boot!
