the caretaker was so helpful and took time to show us round and explain the history of the castle extensively which made our trip.Well maintained, how they don't charge I don't know, as he was worth a fee alone. We went on 22 Aug.

There is a very good exhibition here and video. One of the curators had a wealth of knowledge. Worth a visit.

We visited Dungarven Castle but was quite dissapointed. Only because it was quite small but that can't be helped. It was quite interesting to hear the history behind it.

This is an excellent historical site. There is a great film explaining the history of the castle. They have an interesting display of what life would have been like living in the barracks.

Do you have to ask for your bill in Ireland?

Hi, Depends on the experience. Having a meal, ask for the bill when you are ready to go otherwise you could be waiting a long time. At a bar,you get billed as soon as you get your drinks. Hope this helps.

Ranges from pub fare to the Tannery, a well known, high end restaurant. Lots of options in the town and near the castle.
