Beautifully maintained, peaceful, romantic site to walk the gardens and grounds, and fantasize what life is/was like for the rich and famous. Fun to walk the same spots where the Bond 007 "Quantum of Solace" and Star Wars (Naboo) location filming was done here. Excellent spot for photo opportunities.

We took the 20 minute hike from the ferry to visit the beautiful gardens of Balbianello. The views are magical, the grounds are well-maintained. As we visited in July during the heatwave we made the right call by visiting first thing in the morning. Not only was the temperature more tolerable but there were not many tourists early in the... Well worth a visit, at first we thought the entry cost was high but with the tour guide 1 hour talk it was great with so much knowledge of the villa. The well manicured gardens are magical with superb views of the Lake. The villa feels very homely with so much history and all the personal belongings and memorabilia from... More

This is the loveliest place I have ever seen - even better than Capri. The only thing that spoilt it was the heat - 40 degrees with high humidity!

Villa del Balbianello, which goes back to the 12th century and was popular, in its time, with famous representatives of the Italian Risorgimento. During the visit to the villa, the museum and the garden, you can spend a carefree and relaxing afternoon immersed in art and nature.

We normally would have walked to this villa but there was a heatwave so we took the taxi boat. The gardens were lovely didn't see inside the house though. Nice to see where casino royale was filmed

There is only a small car park here which fills early, but everyone started parking on the roads leading up to it, alongside the wall opposite the car parking spaces and seemed to be getting away with it. I parked in the main town car park which was a 20 min walk back to the Villa car park, before the... More

We visited as many villas as we could as we toured through Italy and this was definitely the most pristine garden with a unique villa. Count Guido Monzino, an explorer and the first Italian to conquer Mount Everest, owned this property. It is rather amusing to see an Italian Villa turned into a bachelor pad of note, with no expenses... More

Amazing, beautiful place. I walked here but the path is only open certain days. You can also get a boat here, and wish I'd got a boat, as although it is expensive, and only runs every half an hour, you can only really see the villa's towers properly from a boat. Walk is a bit of a trek too (takes... More
