Via Guido Monzino 1 | Località Lenno, 22016, Tremezzina, Italy
The Villa was on my last of places to see for the past 3 years after moving to Spain. Lake Como is an enchanting area and all the nearby villages are exceptional to visit. Lenno, where the Villa is located, has a very romantic charm....More
We arrived via the 2 1/2 water taxi tour from Bellagio, excellent but could have spent half hour more at the villa.
Really good, informative guided tour of this intruiging house, once the residence of a Cardinal and latterly a wealthy explorer.
Everything here, from...More
Spent about 3 hours there admiring the beauty of the Villa and its grounds, including doing a 1+ hour guided tour of the interior. Lovely views. Don't miss it.
Getting there was a little troublesome as the walking access was closed, due to renovation work....More
Madame booked this one by mistake (supposed to be the Wine tasting, she doesn't even like wine... but I do!!!) but we didn't realise until we were on the boat. Nevertheless an interesting trip with a very good guide supplied by Crystal. An old building...More

We took the ferry from Varenna to Lenno and walked from there to Villa Balbianello. It was a beautiful walk and took maybe 20minutes. We paid 9E to take the tour and I am glad we did. The last owner of the Villa was quite...More
This is a lovely place but it is expensive. We forgot our National Trust cards which was a shame because they offer a significant discount- Italian National have a reciprocal agreement with ours.
The gardens are very beautiful but quite small. There are a lot...More

Hotel can tell you where to get the ferry. The water taxi ran every 15 minutes when we were there. Cost 5€ per person. It is a 5 minute walk to taxi stand from ferry terminal. You can also walk to the villa but going is all up hill. Suggest taking the taxi going and if you have the time walk back to see different views. When you get to the villa you can buy a ticket to tour inside the buildings

The Lago Como water taxi service does have a single smaller taxi service that will drop you in the town of Lenno. It is not the same ferry service boats that do the Bellagio, Varrena, Trezzmena routing. I do know that there is an hourly taxi departing from Trezzmena going to Lenno. Once you reach Lenno dock, from there you have a 10 minute walk along the water front around to either the foot path up to the Villa, or you can catch a separate private water taxi for five euros one way, which you catch just there by the waters edge and restaurant. My recommendation is to take the private water taxi to approach the villa for some excellent views and pictures, enter the villa grounds from the taxi docking just at the villa ticket counter entrance. Then walk the path back down from the villa to the town of Lenno. There is a short path approx. 20 minutes walk, and a longer pathway that takes about 45 minutes.
