The journey itself is wonderful as it is only accessible by water (Menaggiowatertaxi is an an excellent way there!). But once you are at the villa, the scenery and views are breathtaking. The gardens are immaculate and every angle is amazing. We took a guided...More

This place is a must visit when holidaying in Como. We travelled by boat from Como up to Lido, we then took a short walk to the taxi stop which took us around the lake to the Villa. The entrance fee is 20 euros per...More

The house was fascinating and the guide was excellent. Beyond that I was left feeling angry and exploited. We chose to walk to the villa rather than wait for the water taxi - there was nothing to warn us of this awful mistake. The approach...More

Amazing views of Lake Como. Gorgeous gardens. Breathtaking photos from all angles. No wonder so many folks get married here. The gardens are amazing. The house and the tour are okay, but I don't think it was worth it. House is decorated as last owner's...More

It was so beautiful, but a hard walk to get to the Villa. Worth every step if you can make it. The house was also extremely beautiful, 5 stories, also not an easy tour. Took the grounds+house tour. Our tour guide was very well informed....More

Known as the 'James Bond' Villa we loved the ferry to Lenno and then the walk along the front to the Villa. We took the shorter walk to the Villa. The gardens are beautiful but not huge and the views of the Lake are wonderful...More

We visited both this villa and villa Carlotta and this was so much better!!! (More expensive at 20 E each, no senior rate) but you get a guided tour into a comfortable former home. The guide made the villa and its story come alive! The...More

HI! How is the weather now in Lake Como like? Travelling there next week and some recent photos show that people are wearing heavy scarves and jackets. Is it still cold?

We stayed in Varenna from the 15th through to the 27th. We had good weather sunny right through to the 24th/25th when we had rain. During the first 9 to 10 days it was very warm in the sunshine but cool in the shade. Most... More

Which days can i walk up to the Villa and not use the boat? Various guidebooks say only Tue, Sat, and Sun, but the website says "Every day (except on Monday and Wednesday) the crossover from Lenno is allowed (about 1 km)". I am planning to visit on a Thursday.
