Had a guided tour of the Villa with a local guide. She was very knowledgeable both of the villa and Guido Monzoni, it's last owner before he bequeathed it to the FAI (Italy's National Trust). We found it very interesting and the gardens are beautiful...More

Villa del Balbianello is absolutely spectacular. We nearly didn't go but I'm so glad we did, it was beautiful. Sitting on a little part of the coastline that juts out into the water, the views and gardens were magnificent. It got quite busy while we...More

The garden was just breathtaking! I loved every moment of the stay. It was along walk from the parking area to the Villa, so be prepared! The view and the garden is all worth the effort.

We came by car and parked at the entrance to the villa's promenade. We came early, finding a parking spot was easy. We chose to walk the short route to the house, which offered a view of the lake most of the way. The walk...More

Guido Monzino conquered Mount Everest and travelled to the North Pole in the 1970's. A visit here not only gives you the opportunity visit a beautiful villa in a wonderful setting but to delve into the life of this extraordinary man.

Well worth a visit. Tour of the house is essential. The gardens are not big and green. Well manicured by the two gardeners including hand pruning the trees to shape them. The guided tour of the house was good. The guide knew lots about the...More

Attended my godson's wedding here - incredibly beautiful place. If you're planning to arrive by water (rather than walk), important to note the limited availability of the boats from Lido de Leno. Lots of private boats and worth the extra if you can afford it.

From the public landing stage take left and walk along the lake side for 500 mt, then you will find the shuttle at the Lido di Lenno. It is a flat walk, there are benches where you can relax. In 5 minutes it's done.
