The third stop on our Bultrips tour was the town of Lovech with its covered bridge, a lovely centrepiece of a quaint little town. The bridge itself is a nice photo opportunity and a place to look around for about 30 minutes or so with the few shops inside.

If in Lovech then its definitely worth a visit.

Nice photos, beautiful scenery of the town. If you are in the area, it is definitely a place to visit. I would not go especially. Better to photograph it in late afternoon since colors are nice. There is a great coffee shop on the other side of the river in front of the colored houses - a lovely place to hallucinate.

It is a smaller and younger (19th century) equivalent of some famous covered bridge abroad. There are souvenir shops and a small café where you may seep you coffee and have a look at the river.
The bridge together with the old town (Varosha) and the fortress remains above it are the main tourist attractions in Lovech, located near to each other.

There's nothing to see there apart from stores where you can buy souvenirs(the second star is for that). Just put a ceiling on any other bridge and close it for vehicles and there you have it. Do not lose your time ;)

The covered Bridge in Lovech crosses the Osam River, conecting the new and old part of the town. The original bridge was built in 1876 by Kolio Ficheto. The builder was self educated.
Covered bridge is build by stone and wood. There only 4 covered bridges in Europe. There is a kafe and shops for souvenirs and tourist information and very nice view to Hisaria fortress.
The covered bridge is the most recognizes symbol of Lovech.

This 320-foot long covered bridge spans the Osam river and connects old and new Lovech. Wood or stone-based bridges had existed at this site for a long time, but were frequently destroyed by floods. In 1874, a new, covered bridge was built, and included several dozen stored, cafes and shops on both sides. Being a wooden bridge, it burnt down in 1925, and was replaced by a much less attractive metal bridge. To recover the aesthetic aspect of the bridge, Lovech leadership commissioned a return to the 1874 design, which was partially accomplished in 1982, although with far fewer shops on it. However, it still houses a pastry shop and a cafe. As you head from one side of town to the other, it is a great stop for a coffee and great for people watching too.

A beautiful covered bridge, with small shops inside. Definitely it worths a visit. I was a bit disappointed by the winter ornaments hanging at the entrance on the bridge and altering its beauty.

Very interesting bridge. There are some lovely shops with typical Bulgarian products. There is also a coffee shop with very good "katmi" which is full all the day. When you pass inside you feel you a part of the history.

An unusual covered bridge, for pedestrians only, with many souvenir and handicraft shops. Pretty and interesting to see.
