Booked a ticket for a certain date mistakenly (meant to book previous date) and tried to e-mail / WhatsApp / call them on all listed numbers - no response whatsoever. Sketchy company, either a scam or completely inattentive and zero accountability

They changed our pickup point due to our flight delay, which in theory was helpful, but didnt communicate this to the driver who NEVER SHOWED UP. Refused a refund (til later, which they promised, but don't follow through on)

I booked another shuttle back from Montezuma which, to my disappointment, contracted through this terrible company. We were loaded and unloaded 5x into different vehicles, before the shuttle stopped about 5 kilometers past puntarenas, told just my girlfriend and I to get out without explaining anything, and with no English they pointed to an unmarked (illegal?) car going to La Fortuna. The driver couldn't explain the situation, no english, and drove 20-30kph over the speed limit on windy mountain roads. He told me I had to sit in the front because of the police, which makes me think he was an illegal cab under the table.

We took the transfer from Santa Teresa to San Jose earlier today. The first driver was good and safe. However, after the boat ride where the second driver picked us up, things changed. Constantly he was a pushy driver and didn’t feel so safe to go with. After he left all the other passengers off at the airport, he was gonna take me and my boyfriend into the city. It seemed like something just snapped. He was driving like a lunatic. Faster and way more aggressive than all the others on the road. Constantly honking and feeling over all super stressed.

It got way worse when we are close to the hotel and there was an old man passing the road. The driver saw the man, but just honked and kept speeding up even though it was a red light. We started screaming to the driver to chill and drive calmer, he didn’t answer. The old man barely made it passed the road, when he tried to run as well as he could.

At the hotel, I burst out at the driver that under no circumstances is it ever okey to drive like he did and that he was a dangerous driver. Would never like to go with him again, and would also for that reason never hire this company again. It was an awful experience. And when you pay 65 dollars per person for a shuttle, you could expect the drivers to at least be remotely safe. This was the worst driver I have ever come across in my entire life, and the far worst of all in Costa Rica.

Would also like to mention that the second car didn’t feel so safe and had no neck support what so ever. In case of an accident, a whiplash injury would be likely with that car. Especially with a driver like that...

Booked a shuttle from Liberia Airport to Sainta Teresa beach and are pleased with the service. Car was exactly where they said it would be and on time both on the way there and back. Drivers didn't speak much English but enough to communicate stops for bathroom and coffees and were friendly. Shuttle buses were air conditioned and got us there in good time despite some hairy, mid-construction roads. No complaints!

After many positive experiences with their service, we were double charged for our return trip in April; once by the hotel and again by Montezuma Expeditions. I have contacted ME by e-mail and WhatsApp with no reply. Very disappointed and surprised not to receive a response. Will use another service in the future.

We took the public bus ($10) to Santa Teresa, and used Montezuma Expeditions ($50) on the way back. What you get for the extra money is air-conditioning, and pick-up and drop-off from your hotel. However the mini-buses were poorly maintained, quite uncomfortable, and used some fold-down seats without proper backs. The drivers also struggled with basic English, making communication hard for some passengers. We had to carry our own luggage up the steps onto the ferry. Overall we thought that the public bus was much better value - the seats were more comfortable and you could leave your luggage on the bus for the ferry ride.

I booked the package Shuttle + Hotel(1 night in San Jose).
Everything worked liked clockwork. My room was ready and my shuttle to San Teresa arrived on time.

Although booking this shuttle was a pleasant experience (the employee was very helpful), my plans changed last minute, and they would not even speak to me about options to reschedule my journey. They gave me a firm no, and that was $50 down the drain, even though the shuttle was not full and my seat would not have otherwise been filled (I was the very last person to book). I recommend Zuma Tours for a shuttle to other cities in Costa Rica, as this company was extremely unaccommodating and unhelpful. I would not give them business ever again.

My husband and I used Montezuma Expeditions to take a shuttle from SJO Airport to Santa Teresa. This was approx. a 5 hour journey, but it was very easy because they broke it up in 2 parts. The first shuttle picked us up at the airport cafe (when you exit, go to the right) and took us to Puntarenas. They bought our Ferry ticket and from there we took a Ferry to Paquera. In Paquera there was a second shuttle waiting to take us to Santa Teresa. It is essentially the same thing if you're going to Mal Pais, and Montezuma.

We also used them on the trip back to SJO, but they dropped us off at our hotel instead of the airport. They were punctual. We will use them again next time.
