Located in the Province of Guanacaste, this small and quiet beach has moderate, gentle waves. Suitable for swimming, the water is calm and clean. There's also some birds and monkeys in the trees.

The north section of Playa Nacascolo has a beach house owned by the Andaz Costa Rica Resort. There you can have Tico cuisine for breakfast, lunch or snacks. This casual and friendly environment is worth checking out. Loved their seabass tacos which were full of fresh fish and tasty filling. Outside guests are welcome to dine here and enjoy the beach by purchasing a Day Pass at the resort’s front desk. The beach house is 15 minutes away from the resort by using their shuttle. Shuttles leave the resort every 30 minutes during the day.

You have to leave your car at the free parking at the entry of the peninsula. Then a bus will drive you.
Playa Nacascolo is the first beach at the entry of peninsula. You can continue with another bus until playa Blanca which is wonderful.
There is always a peace of white sand even if tide is up. You can see a lot of fish in the water, just snorkeling. There are trees for giving shadow.
There is few people because there are 600 stairs to access the beach.
You have to bring your own food and drink because there is no restaurant or bar on the beach.
You have a nice view on the bay in front of Panama and Hermosa playas.
The last bus to move back to the car is at 5pm.

Beautiful secluded beach with monkeys and coatis. We were staying across the bay at the Occidental Papagayo and rented a waverunner on the beach ($100/one hour). We explored the bay and rode to Nacascolo (about 5 minutes distance) where we spent time seeing the wildlife and taking pics on the beach.

We arrived at about 8:30 to the parking by the entrance to the resort. It took about 10 minutes by the free shuttle to get to the beach and 100 meters walk. There are washrooms and showers. Snorkeling is very poor because bottom is sandy, no fish. The beach and water is pretty messy with lots of leafs. At high tide water comes up to trees and there is no place to seat. We saw many shellcrabs and monkeys. In general it was pleasant experience.

You need to take a shuttle from across the golf course to get to the beaches. The day we went it was so windy. It was still nice..lots of monkeys and a large long beach. There were a lot of people but the beach was so long all could have privacy. Showers at top of stairs from beach.

This beach is located on the scenic Peninsula Papagayo. Locals come here and you may witness wildlife throughout the mangroves.

Playa Nacascolo is a beautiful calm water beach on the Papagayo Peninsula. Allow for an entire day to enjoy it fully. A shuttle bus takes you from a free public parking lot directly to the beach. There is a wooden pathway through the jungle with fresh water showers and restrooms for public use in the same area. We try to visit Playa Nascascolo every time we're in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Park you car next to Andaz hotel and get a free shuttle to this beach. It is worthed. There is no wave and the water is so clear. It is one of the most peaceful beaches I have seen. Bring your own water and keep the place clean.

It was a nice beach to discover. No-one on it, we were alone ! But think about the tide, because if it's the high tide there is no beach and it's only rock.
But if you want to avoid all tourists, go there.
And it's not where mapsme located It, it's 200m after.
Cheers
