The garden is the most interesting thing to see as for the rest, they sell herbs which is interesting but as a museum, not much to see or do there.

This is a good way to spend an hour. The exhibits are not extensive but interesting enough with local connections. I would have preferred more background on the origins and history of the town but it was worth a visit none the less

I was on the search for the skeleton of Koos Sas. I will not give away any secrets, I recommend you swing by and ask. The rest of the museum had quit a bit of cool things from collection of musical instruments, local sports heroes...More

The Montagu musical society have wonderful concerts each month. We were treated to the delights of James Grace, probably South Africa's leading classical guitarist.

Worth a quick visit. The staff are very helpful although the curator was on leave when we visited so they couldn't access the information we were looking for. Nicely laid out. Roadworks make access a bit difficult so park in a side street and walk...More

Visited in february this year.. You can't spend too long here as it is a small place. looking through the eyes of one or two families and browsing among their possessions one gets areal feel of how life was indeed simple and labour intensive some...More

This museum is set in an old Church... beautiful history and artifacts. There are a few rare artifacts which was pleasant to see. I loved the fact that people donated some of their possessions to the museum, for the sake of preserving the history. Everyone...More

I found the photos of the 1981, 2003 and 2008 floods particularly interesting. It was wonderful to see how the town rebuilt itself every time after suffering such devastation.
