Beautiful park with good trails in a beautiful area. Forests, mountain streams, birds and all very quiet.

We took the route to the Black Gouse Waterfall. It was a beautiful experience, route was well marked but sometimes pretty tough so you need a good pair of trekking shoes. If the weather conditions are bad it can be dangerous and hard to get to the waterfall. You need to go to administration first to sign and talk with the guides. We've met there a guide whos name was Zaza, he is a great guy with a lot of experience. They have three persian cats that are adorable :)

Great walk and really challenging but the last km was tough. A lot of steep climbing and ledges. Not for the feint hearted but worth it in the end.

Nice place. The shortest track time is 6 hours. The goal is waterfall visiting. Not so easy and requires the good physical conditions.

We walked to the ruined fortress. Pleasant hike through the woods with a couple of steep scrambles. Lots of ivy covered stone walls at the fortress - a moody reminder of the fragility of our accomplishments

The walk is better than the waterfall. Not easy though! Expect a tricky tree trunk bridge, walking through the riverbed and doing some bouldering. The sting is in the tail: small slippery hair pin path uphill and then the same downhill to the waterfall. Same way back. A really great exhilarating walk if you are up for it (please wear shoes with good grip!)

It was a very cool trail. I would say the level is higher then average , because in some parts you need to climb a bit. But overall is ok, no need of special shoes, usual sneakers is ok.4h in both ways it took us including 30-40min we spent near the waterfall
Worth to visit!

We had a fantastic 3 days hiking to black rock lake and back, it was so beautiful at every stage. We stayed in Sighnaghi and got a taxi to the national park in the morning; we brought all of our food supplies from there and Tbilisi. We rented sleeping bags (just to mention they are not very compact so make sure you have a big enough bag) from the park and stayed in the tourist cabin for 2 nights. The ranger offfice is open 9am-6pm so call ahead and book your place in the cabin (+995577101834) we had one night in a bed and one on the floor (also just a thought to anyone doing this, kindly the ranger let us sleep in his bed so we didn’t have to sleep on the floor but there are mice running about getting in peoples bags so it might not be the best night sleep if you choose this)
The hike was harder than we expected and longer than the ranger office say online, this was the thoughts of everyone we met who also did the walk. The first day took us 5 hours to reach the cabin, the second to the lake and back as we didn’t do circular took us 9 hrs, it would probably take a little less in good weather but we were doing it in a thunderstorm, and the last day back down took us 4hrs. A black dog from Lagodekhi guided us the whole 3 days and I think he’s a regular so I would take a little bag of dog treats just in case :)
And the warning part: I was wearing shorts to do the hike as I hate wearing trousers in the rain and I must have brushed past a giant hogweed plant as I burnt my leg in three places; the sap of the plant once on your skin makes you vulnerable to sun burn (and in the worst case this can last for life) so if you get it on you wash it immediately and cover from the sun. We saw rangers clearing the paths just chopping wildly with a machete so these hogweed stems were everywhere and there is no warning sign in the park which I really feel there needs to be. So I would recommend trousers (and wash them after the hike because the sap stays active) but also watch your hands and face as if the sap gets in your eyes it can leave you partially or fully blind.

Здравствуйте! Я планирую в Лагодехи приехать одна. Есть ли там гиды, которые набирают группы и организовывают поход?

Hello!
You can go to Lagodekhi on a fixed-route taxi. The ride takes about one hour. Upon arrival in Lagodekhi, get off at the center near the cinema.
Ask any passer-by or local driver the name of VALERI OGIASHVILI (he is known in the GID area).
Pleasant journeying to you!
