We visited as we where passing through to Waitomo. It is very interesting and yuou do get to see a couple of Kiwi's but no photo's which I find annoying. But they are the rules so you must obey. I found the $24 entrance fee...More

The kiwi's are kept in a dark enclosure, but it was nice to see them as well as other birds. There are signs telling you what kind of birds they are, which is good. Definitely take a look when you come to NZ.

Opportunity to see live, active kiwis in a nocturnal environment. There are also enclosures for viewing ducks and waterfowl plus aviaries containing many species of native birds. Not necessarily a must see, but certainly worth the stop if you are anywhere nearby.

We spent a couple of hours walking around and we had a great time. Definitely more than Kiwi's here, lots of native birds and some tuatara's (reptiles). We managed to see one of the kiwi's, the other 2 were either in their burrow or hiding...More

They did have 3 kiwi's only one of which was awake and about. Getting to see a kiwi was awesome! The place has lots of signs around the area making it easy to find off the road. The real let down to this place is...More

This is a must if you are in Otorohanga. It is best to get there before before or around 10am so you can see the kiwi being fed. There is a short talk before which is interesting. You can also watch other birds being fed...More

This is more than just visiting the Kiwi House for their feeding. There are many birds located here, an enclosed aviary. Some reptiles, fish. Nice nature area.

Other then that we really wanted to see a kiwi bird, this place does not offer much. It's close to other attractions like the glow worm caves, so a combined visit will be fine. We spend about an hour or so here. The kiwi birds...More
