The bar as you arrive is nice. Tucked inside the cave it gives a cool vibe. good for a beer. Once you enter the cave, a hiding place for runaway slaves, the mood changes. it has the potential do be so much more. Especially with the rich history of slavery in the island and their struggle. One positive is the... More

There really isn't much to see but as part of a tour it's worth stopping for a few minutes to look around as the history of the runaway slaves is interesting.

On the way to the Cueva Del Índio we'd passed a massive cave advertising a bar inside so we ventured down the road leading to it and were greeted by a friendly chap who replied to our request for a mid-morning coffee by informing us that they didn't have any coffee but could offer us a cocktail, including their speciality... Our casa host took us here to hang out with the locals on a Saturday night where they have stage performance and later turn into a dance floor/rave party. We took a collectivo from the town which cost 1 CUC per person and 2 CUC for cover (per person). It was almost empty when we arrived around 10pm. The performance... More

Small cave leading to a restaurant. Possibility to get a ride in calash to end the visit (or a 15 minutes walk). Highly recommend to go there with a guide or documents explaining the different sites to be able to understand what you are looking at, as the place doesn't show any explaination of the different arts. Locals use to... More

I came here as a part of the hop on/of bus tour from Vinales. Due to the infrequent bus schedule I had plenty of time and ended up killing a few moments here. I bought a drink and paid for my ticket before entering the cave. When you pay for your ticket ask for a receipt or you might find... More

This really is a tiny cave, with very little information about the escape slaves who made it their home ... but there's a bar/restaurant at both the start and end ! When I was there, a short dance was performed as you left the cave ... with a donation requested ! Not really worth the 3 CUC entrance fee.

This was a walk though a cave system seeing the strange formations caused by water movement and then a short boat trip within the cave and out into the open.

I came here as a part of the hop on/of bus tour in Vinales. As the bus does not go so often I had pleanty of time by the cave. Because of this I bought a drink and paid for my ticket before entering the cave. Once I was done with my drink I entered the cave where a staff... More
