This is a museum, and as such, is packed with furniture and some stories. You don't get to see the plantation environment as such. Inside the house, there are interesting objets, not always placed in the room where they were at the time of the plantation. Personnel are very friendly and open to questions, though.

Everything like in the old movies about pirates, was cool to stand near 200 years old dining table. If you like history then it's your place

We booked for Sunday lunch and we're delighted with the local food and ambience, we are from the UK and were the only white people in a sea of local very friendly Bajans, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were fortunate to have sitting on the next table the prime minister of Barbados Freundel Stuart very nice man, he came over... We stopped here as part of a coast to coast tour (RCR) & learnt about the house's 300 year old history. It has been lovingly restored & features many old artefacts including furniture, cameras & early opticians equipment. There are also carriages in the basement, & the house itself its beautiful, though fairly small. It doesn't take long to complete... More

Visited here recently on a tour of Barbados and was mightily impressed. Our guide was very professional and after her explanations we were allowed to wander freely through the property to take in the details. The history of the house was of great interest, and pointed up some sidelights of Barbadian history. The display of optical equipment seemed to be... More

Firstly the good points. Entrance fee is only Bd $20 - cheap for Barbados and you get your own little leaflet rather than one of those laminated A4 sheets that you hand in at the end. You are able to look round all of the rooms. A pleasant plantation house with the rooms full of old furniture and artefacts but... More

We stopped here as part of a full island Williams tour. Our stop included a tour of the plantation house as well as a buffet lunch. We enjoyed eating some of the local favorites, especially the bread pudding and ice cream! We probably spent more time at the plantation than needed, but all in all it was an interesting and... We visited as part of a cruise tour, the house showed how the other half lived during some terrible times. The rooms are well presented and there are some unusual exhibits too. Our tour included a demonstration of Rum Cocktail making and a taste of some local food. It was good fun.
