Inland from Budleigh Salterton, this 3.8 mile moderate walk travels along the route of the old railway line, through scenic woodland which is home to an abundance of wildlife, including bats and lizards. Coming back along the South West Coast Path there are stunning red cliffs, and the remains of a signal station built to warn of enemy vessels during the Napoleonic Wars.

What a pretty little town Budleigh Salterton is. We spent the day wandering shops, then headed to the beach with ice cream cones in hand. Having just arrived from Southern France, the difference in coast lines was dramatic. This whole area is like going back...More

Along the coast some great walks can be made, Op onto the cliffs to the beacon that dates from the former sailing times and now being restored. On top it can be windy, clibing over stiles or passing through gates. The walk routes are well...More

We had an enjoyable walk along the sea front from one end to the other followed by some lunch at L'image. Charming surrounds & very tasty food. A great day out & we will be back.

Red cliffs are really famous around this region and everyone bangs on about them. But they are magnificent and a visual treat. Stunning veiws and on a clear dry day this is the best of East Devon. Great experience.

Going around the Jurassic Coast it was another interesting stop for us,after coming from Exmouth. The beach is full with pebbles and if you plan to walk it all the way across, go on the concrete pavement otherwise it's quite a challenge. It's not so...More

lovely walk, accessible from many spots in Budleigh Salterton and towards Exmouth. one of the nicest is to get onto the old railway track bike path from the village of Knowle. A map will show you where to leave it, and walk along the golf...More

Actually this is a review to keep you away from one of the most peaceful places going. It's not commercial nor really on the tourist trail but we'll worth a visit
