The church is a pleasant place with history. Here you can see one of the few religious paintings of Goya. Impressive painting of the Assumption of Mary. It was commissioned by his brother Camilo, who was a priest in this parish. The church is very large and when you go out to the square you have spectacular views of Chinchon and the castle as well as the clock tower which is nearby.

Beautiful church. You have to climb up, but it's not that difficult.

We were told that Goya's brother was the priest of this church so he painted the work of art behind the altar. We have not read this anywhere, we just heard it from someone that shared this with us.

The church is very nice, They ask for a .50 euros to enter and also have a donation box inside.

You can take very nice photos of Chinchon from this area and enjoy the views of Madrid in the distance.

This is a very solid looking building. Construction began on it in 1534, another 92 years passing before it was finished. It was unfortunately closed when I went by so I could not see the work by Goya. It is not the original such church on the site, only the Tower del Reloj remaining of the 14th century church. It is imposing from the Plaza Mayor. It is worth the climb up [not very hard] to see the church, the tower and views down over the town.

Quite a hike, but great views from the terrace of the church. A must when visiting Chinchon. Park down in the town, limited parking around the church.

This large and impressive church is one of the standout buildings in Chinchon and stands proudly in a position overlooking the Plaza Mayor. We didn’t get to see inside, but from notices we read outside, it appears to be open daily until 7 o’clock in the evening, and I mention this because a previous review suggested that it is only open during mass.

Not much to see from the outside, the church opens only during mass and there are no tours to see Goya's painting.

Amazingly large from outside this church overlooks the city, next to Torre del Reloj offering great view over the city and Plaza Mayor.
Interior of the church is beautiful, offering some early work of Goya. The church dates back to end of 15th century, so you can feel generations visiting church and participating mass. You can too, it is an active church.
