In Chinchon they say they have a tower without a church and a church without a tower. It adjoined an old church that had been destroyed during the Revolutionary War. It was the tower of the oldest church in the city, it is known that it was built as early as the 14th century It is very well preserved and there is a viewpoint next to it with a very beautiful view of the Main Square and the castle. A very pleasant environment.

The companion church from the 14th century was destroyed during the War of Independence. The tower has been renovated several times over the centuries, most recently late last century. I am not aware if it can be climbed. Speaking of climbing, it is a modest hike up to its base, near the Iglesia de Ntra. Sta. De la Asuncion.

We visited the tower but it was not possible to go inside so we just viewed it from outside. It is located just by a Mirador with great views of the main square from above.

Spectacular monument with church destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. No public access though. Great landmark for Chinchon

This splendid tower stands at the edge of the Mirador and the impressive church. It provides fabulous views in two mirroring ways. First of all, the views from the Mirador give great photo opportunities of the town below and the castle high on a hill opposite.

And from down below, when taking photos of the Plaza Mayor, the tower and church above make a perfect backdrop.

The tower is full of small holes, which original purpose is unknown to me viewing from outside, but pigeons have found them useful.
Tower is located few hundred meters from Plaza de Mayor, next to theatre and church Iglesia Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion.
From the tower opens magnificent view over the city towards the castle.

The name says it all. located above the main square the views over the town and surrounding countryside are superb. The view of the castle on the next hill will have photographers scrabbling for their cameras.Well worth a visit and next to the Church and Theatre.

Watch the sunset with your loved ones, very romantic. And admire the panoramic view of Chinchon while the sun sets.
