Unique experience with a great view!

On the top of San Carlo hill, near Arona, you can see one of the best statue in the world. The project on which it was designed was the basic for the Liberty statue now in New York

Definitely worth the effort to climb up. Mind you, if you're a very tall person, it's going to be a bit tricky. I have broad shoulders which kept hitting on the guard rail and knees which kept bumping into the steps of the ladder. I literally had to wiggle up, but it's very much worth it.

It's one of the tallest statue in the world and it worths a visit. You can climb inside and enjoy a nice view of the lake. It's also interesting to know the story about it. Kids and adults would love it!

May be it was because we visited at the end of a long afternoon but the statue didn't do a lot for me You have a pay to get really close to it which is fair enough but as it is so big and high you get a decent view of it anyway. It is quite commercialised with a large... More

A "MUST SEE" to scent something about the Italian religious atmosphere. Impressive piece of religious art. Can be visited and you can climb it to enjoy a perfect view on the Lago Maggiore.

To find the statue is easy from Arona, there are enough road signs to guide you. It takes about two-three minutes from the main road between Meina and Arona. If you're at the site you will find a parking lot at the feet of the statue. To enter the statue will cost you about 3 - 5 euro, depending the... More

The San Carol statue can be climbed just as the Statue of Liberty. There is fist a high balcony you reach that provides a wonderful view over lake Maggiore. But the rest of the climb is not for the faint of hearts. If you reach the top you can look out the ear and eye of the statue.
