This place was a lot more fun than it sounded. It is within the Civic museum, which is very reasonably priced entry. The Carriage museum is below ground level ,and it stunningly well displayed showing the development of carriages over the years. The exhibits are beautiful and the information is in italian and English. There is even a simulated carriage... More

This museum is the basement of Palazzo Buonaccorsi, so you share the same entry. You can see it together or separately with the rest of the museum in the top floors. The museum is interesting, as it tells the story of the carriage over time, and then you can see some of the carriages from several eras and geographies. The... More

It was very interesting to see the evolution of carriage design and carriage making. That must be one of the finest collections anywhere.

A nice collection of carriages, coaches and related equipment. Everything with explanations, aesthetically well displayed, the best was the carriage ride simulator, everybody enjoyed! Though not huge collection of carriages (and not magnificent types like the ones in Lisbon and Vienna) but worth a visit!

Museo della carrozza is an unexpected museum of old chariots. A very interesting collection in a wonderful setting: the cellars of Palazzo Buonaccorsi. Everything here is well preserved, good light, nice atmosphere. It seems a time trip in the past. The most beautiful thing is the virtual trip. You can choos a postcard of a village around Macerata (taht will... More

We greatly enjoyed this museum with audio tour. It was well worth the admission and added to our understanding of the region. It was an interesting look at a different time.

You can hardly visit a museum like this. There are coaches and other equipment for riding. Very nice layout. The peculiarity is that you can take a simulated trip with a coach to a village in the province of Macerata. Try it!
