This beach on the eastern coast stretches for miles, from Bwejuu village all the way south to Jambiani. It's far more less crowded than the Nungwi on the north shore. The ocean like anywhere on Zanzibar is warm and turquoise, but with big differences in low and high tide. Print the tide schedule online so you can plan your time,... More

Beautiful beach. Clean. Friendly not pushy Masai try to sell you their trinkets but not aggressive. Warm balmy calm sea. When tide is low water is far out for a few hours. Interesting to walk and watch native women collecting strange kind of seafood from corals. Lots of places for kitesurfing but didn't bother us from swimming. Nice eateries along... More

We stayed in an Hotel in Paje Beach, and I have to say is one of the best beaches of the island. There are not too many people, and you can either just lie and relax, or practice some kite surf when is windy. Check the tides as there is a HUGE difference between the low and the high one.... More

On the beach there is a number of kitesurfing schools and if you are a beginner - you will be taken care of. If you are an expert - you will love this spot even more.Enjoy !

The best beach to learn to kite with a lot of local schools. I strongly recommend local school - Exotic Kite School. Great instructors who love to hang out and will teach you how to kite. Also it has interesting low and high tides to see.

This beach has the finest grained sand you can imagine - almost like flour. The water is crystal clear and it is truly a pearl. However, be aware of two things: - Show caution when all the kite-surfing rookies are surfing. Many are new to the sport so control is an issue; pace though isn't a problem... - The tide... More

Paje was definitely a destination for kite surfers. It seemed like a good place to learn but we opted out of lessons. We enjoyed long walks to the reef during low tide to see all the creatures we could find in the temporarily shallow waters. The beach is cleaner than other spots of Zanzibar that we visited.

The water may not be the best on Zanzibar (Nungwi probably is regarding water) but Paje beach is the best place to hang out, with the best atmosphere! If you like places with less resorts and a more relaxed vibe, this is the place to be on Zanzibar. Every one is very friendly, the sand is beautiful and good swimming... More
