An awesome location to enjoy the sun sand & sea. Pristine water, white sand & clear skies. Enjoyed every moment there. Very popular with kite surfers & a great location for photographers too. Very accessible & great restaurants & hotels in the area.

Great for kitesurfing! Sure paradise for water sport enthusiasts. White sands and minty blue waters and the ideal spot to catch the sunrise.

It wasn't as beautiful as the Caribbean but more comforting. You can take a walk or rent a bike in the morning and go all the way to jambiani (which is about 6-7 km far) without seeing more than 10 people on the beach in...More

Paje beach is quite a distance may be 42 km from Stone town, but a good place to unwind and do sky surfing and other typical holiday experiences. It is the kind of place you arrive in season and meet like-minded people to engage with...More

Lovely beach, which was clean compared to those on the Tanzanian mainland near Dar es Salaam, though still some washed up debris you needed to be careful of while walking (broken glass, splintered wood). Lots of restaurants and bars, and kite-surfing places. so great views...More

Laidback atmosphere as the main activity on the beach is kite surfing. We liked the beach even more than those in the north, maybe because it is more non-touristic in the south. Great for kids as the water is due to tides a great time...More

Beautiful beach , nice bars , weather is fantastic in August - warm but not too hot. Having said that, what is behind the beach and tourist resorts is awful : it is a poor area, we know it, but hotels should promote cleaning the...More

OK, there is one store with basic supplies and liquor store an green market in village which you pass through on way from beach to stores. No ice, and it is better that way. Avoid ice or any form of non bottled water.

You are absolutely right. Only Nungwi and Kendwa are swimmable all day long. Eastern beaches are swimmable at high tide hours only. The specific times are announced daily by the hotels. At other times, you can walk in the... More
