    Excellent
We went at 5pm and it was perfect timing, we spent an hour there learning about and feeding turtles seaweed. Our guide Khalifa was excellent, very patient and had a lovely temperament. He has worked there 3 years and loves the turtles. This is on Aluna beach so a few minutes walk from the other turtle place. This is called "Nungwi Mnarani Aquarium" Most tourists didn't want to swim with turtles but we watched one set that did and the turtles didn't seem to mind it at all, on the contrary they were very inquisitive and flocked to the tourists. Just remember a turtle sanctuary like this cannot survive without tourism so whatever your personal opinion I would rather have this is existence than not. Fisherman bring in injured turtles for them to be rehabilitated. Current prices attached (pics).

Great way for an upclose view of turtles
After a long ride down a poorly maintained dirt road you arrive. Very educational and being able to swim with the turtles was a nice option. You must be properly dressed for swimming. Be careful when feeding the animals. Overall, it's worth the ride.

Unique experience but the turtles can bite you
Quite a unique experience as you can see turtles upclose and feed them. But watch out if you decide to swim with them, they bite and can leave a bloody mark on you. Even if they dont bite intentionally, mostly if their food gets close to your body, then they may bite you. Unfortunately the staff there pretended like it never happened and it is totally safe to go to the pool to swim with turtles, however, it happened twice during like 15 minutes stay.

I dont think this is a sanctuary. I expected fresh water from the sea and some way of rehab for supposedly injured turtles, but didnt see either.

We were able to see some turtles. We manage to feed some of the turtles. It was nice seeing these creatures, but i am not sure of my feelings considering other humane considerations

We went there and we stay 5min because it was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!!.
It's an amusement for people but turtles are living sensitive and in danger living animals.
What we witness was unreal people could do what ever they want whit the turtles one kid try to drown one and people around where laughing.
People who work there doesn't know nothing about turtles and it's all about the money!
They said that they will release them but I think it's just "marketing for tourists".
They are about 30, in a small cave, it's really to small for a wild animal who need to swim a lot and live alone!!
Please don't support this tourists trap

If I am not mistaken, this attraction is called "Boraka". I went this morning. It was 10 USD per person (20,000 shillings). I enjoyed swimming with the turtles. And so did my beloved. There were 30 turtles. The smallest was the size of a Frisbee and the largest the size of a pedestal table. I asked the keeper how they had arrived there. He told me this place was like a hospital for turtles. They had been caught by fishermen some time before and had been brought there for "recovery". After a year or so, they would be released in the ocean. It's good to visit, I would say. A sound advice: go early. We arrived at 8:30 am. We were the first customers and enjoyed the turtles. When we left, about an hour later, there were at least 40 people. Cheers!

It was a very weird experience. 10USD was too much for what it was. The turtles were amazing and it was a unique experience however I’m not sure how ethical the whole thing was.
