About Zanzibar Watersports
A PADI dive center established in 2007 Zanzibar Watersports has stuck to its commitment to provide all manner of watersports for enthusiastic travelers. Our perfect safety record is a testament to these ideals. With dedicated expat and local staff, we strive to offer the best experiences the ocean has to provide. Zanzibar Watersports is not one of those dive centres that like to fill boats with as many divers as possible. We always keep our groups small and manageable so we can deliver a personal service. Good friends have been made as people excitedly talk about the latest new creatures they have seen. There is nothing like swimming with a school of playful dolphins or spotting yet another turtle to get you chatting! We like to make everything very easy and so our trips are never rushed and always relaxed, just like Zanzibar!

I rent a kite with Gadi (Gadiel). Such a nice guy. Great experience. Had a great time with him and a friend of him. He recommend me the best wind day (in another beach) priorizing over renting me the kite anyway in a low wind day and not the best spot.

My wife and I chose to do a day of deep sea fishing as part of our honeymoon in Zanzibar and what a day on the open sea with the crew from Zanzibar Water Sports! Everything was as planned and we were so pleased to have great communication with Chris and Gail right from the start. Coming from Canada, I’ve always wanted to Deep sea fish and the feeling and experience of reeling in a beautiful sailfish was something I’ll appreciate for a very long time. That said, catching such a fish can be lucky and fortunately we were! The service and feeling of being welcomed and taken care of was created by everyone who was involved in making this fishing trip an amazing experience. Ame and Maimune took very good care of us on the water. They frequently checked the fishing lines and passed many times over potential areas where birds were feeding. Unfortunately my wife had a bit of sea sickness and Ame and Maimune were very attentive to make sure she was ok. After our day out at sea, Chris along with Irene welcomed us over for a celebratory drink and some good conversation while some fresh fish was being cut for us to bring to the local restaurant for a feast. What can I say!!! Thank you so much for this experience! We are so glad to have chosen your charter upon all the other options!

Top Kite lessons with Gadiel. Top kiter, patient and always cool when teaching. I would recommend these lessons to everyone wishing to learn how to kite. Great idea is also to move on the other side of the island and experience kiting in a natural lagoon.

I visited Zanibar at the end of June and was warned by the owner, Chris, that the fishing was poor at this time of year, nevertheless I booked a half-day trip. As I was fishing alone, I booked the smallest boat Suli Suli, to keep the cost down. Chris allocated Pieter to captain the boat and he also stressed that the fishing was not so great and trolling would most likely be un-productive and that jigging or popping was the best bet. Pieter proved to be a highly competent captain and fisherman – he was spot on the trolling was a waste of time but jigging and popping did get some interest. We saw small tuna chasing bait fish, we nearly hooked mahi mahi on poppers and a small amberjack came to the boat from jigging. There were some fish, they were difficult to hook but the boat and crew certainly had the experience and equipment to catch them. I would certainly recommend these guys and at a better time of year I am sure the rods would be bending from multiple hook-ups. A very good rating is based more on the quality of fishing in June rather than the hard work of the crew.
