Fun
Dec 2020 • Solo
Really fun experience and a really good and affordable price. I saw lots of cool animals to see and interact with. I saw dik diks (small antelopes), monkeys, turtles, tortoises, aligators, snakes, chameleons and bush babies.

The only downsides were that some of the enclosures were small and could have been cleaner. The animals water was also quite dirty.

It's one of the best places to visit in Nungwi, you can see a lot of flora and fauna, the way they kept the the zoo with natural grown up plants, makes the place amazing

The zoo truly charmed us with the warm welcoming atmosphere! The guide was interesting and passionate about the zoo! Experience with inhabitants of the zoo was fun and engaging! It has been a pleasure to see how friendly, kind and communicative all animals are. Also we were happy to know that all the animals are rescued from the wild and taken to this zoo for a retreat and being cured there.

Sharon the monkey was a sweetheart

Excellent experience with very friendly host and guide Kennedy. Getting close with Sharon the blue monkey as well as learning more about Chameleons and their conservation work was a great gettaway from the pool. Recommended little excursion should you get bored by the poolside or its raining.

Lovely experience and a sustainable way to run a zoo, heart warming place for animal lovers.
Dec 2019
Our guide was really friendly and took his time to show us the local animals(Chameleons, Monkeys, Bush Babies, Snakes, Crocodiles and Dik diks).

The guide clearly took a lot of pride in showing and telling about the local species and how the conservation society took care of animals that had strayed off in the village.

The dik dik, rafiki was amazingly cute and getting to hang out with the monkeys was a great experience.

This was all in all a very different experience to a lot of other tourist-y zoos around the world, they clearly respected and cared for the animals and used the zoo as a safe spot to hang out while they recovered from injuries or just getting lost in the village.

Nice little zoo

Just few species, but you can stand very close to them and see them in detail, and interact (not with crocodiles). Sharons are the funniest. And you can learn a lot about animals from the guide.

Fantastic experience
Oct 2019 • Couples
Pros:
- you can touch almost all animals, which is usually impossible in Europe
- the staff is very friendly
- the place is densly covered by trees and bushes, which gives a jungle immersion
Cons:
- no fixed price, the guide said $10 per person but agreed on $11 in total after we said we have no more, which was true
- sometimes we felt that our guide don't treat animals respectfully, for example cameleon behaved like he would like to be left alone from the very beginning
- guide said us the owner supports endangered species and tries to protect them but he provided no proof for that and we felt the place is more commercial than charitable
