This was the next activity we did in Zanzibar as we got opportunity to see more of the island. The buggy itself is very fun- an activity we will do again when we come back to Zanzibar. The guide, Babu, is very helpful and fun as well.

We included this activity on the first day of our visit to the island. Feeling a need of a little adrenaline rush? ..this is the perfect activity to sign up for.
Babu was our guide and he made this an absolute memorable trip for us. He made the tour so interesting and never rushed us. We learned a lot about Zanzibar’s culture and had a little spice tour. He included additional activities and spoke well which made the whole activity interesting.
We chose the 03-hour tour which went a slightly longer.

We just experienced very bad customer service. We booked the buggies and they just rebook to someone else instead not willing to check with us.

Very disappointed and not recommended to use such a service.

I went for the afternoon 3 hour ride. You mostly ride very slowly through various villages, or careful navigate the massive potholes that are so distinct for the northern part of zansibar.

On a technical level, no part of the course is very interesting or challenging. The is a very scary human element though - when riding past the villages you will encounter a lot of small childs aged 2-15. Some of them might 'fake' lounge towards your vehicle, or can just be really hard to spot. So there are a definite risk of injury to other people. You will also be driving really close to other peoples homes in not very exhaust-friendly vehicle.

The buggys are of decent quality and newbie friendly. Automatic gears and fully enclosed make them easy and safe to ride. Local staff will handle any tricky manouvers such as backing up.

Great experience and opportunity to see the different parts of Zanzibar. I drove together with my 3-years old son to see Kilindi - a fisherman's village with great view of the ocean. The lead driver Babo was very nice and highly knowledgeable about the different aspects of Zanzibar and talked with us both about the history and the present of Zanzibar - fun and educating experience! also relevant when it's raining (even more fun:))

We took Zanzibuggy's adventure tour.
The tour began from Cholo's beach bar in Nungwi.
We had one buggy shared between my partner and I, We had planned to share the driving but my partner is tall over 6ft and his long legs made it imposssible for him to operate the pedals so I drove for the entire adventure. The buggys are automatic transmission and easy to drive, they are not particularly fast.
We were loaned goggles and a face mask to stop the dust both essential.
Our guide led the way in another buggy.
The tour its self was good, The roads dusty but not that bad to drive, We have certainly driven rougher terrain on quad bikes in other locations.
We definately saw parts of Zanzibar that the majority of visitors never see including the most magnificant deserted beach.
Our guide explained the farming techniques as we passed through plantations, and we saw some boat building and repair at Kendwa.
We made about four stops on the 3 hour tour, bottled water and chilled watermelon were provided.
Our tour ended where we started back at Cholo's beach bar.
This was a fun afternoon break from the relaxed laid back beach and beach bar life of Nungwi, Its not an adrenaline ride. Would definately recommend the trip, certainly consider the driving position if you are taller than average, however my partner was comfortable as a passenger.
