More
On the shores of Lake Wanaka, Rippon has been farmed by the Mills family for 4 generations. Our vineyard Cellar Door offers tastings of a selection of wines all grown and produced on our Demeter-certified biodynamic lakeside vineyard. We do not have a restaurant onsite, nor are picnics allowed. For groups of more than 6 people, we ask that you call ahead to ensure that we are able to accommodate you for a tasting. We look forward to seeing you at the vineyard when you are in Wanaka!

We went with 2 daughters 19 and 23. This is the first and only time we were refused alcohol in NZ. It's wine tasting not a boozy afternoon with a bunch of young lunatics. They had to leave the wine tasting and my wife and...More

This vineyard is gorgeous, we walked from town round the lake in about 15-20 minutes! You can also stop to see the famous tree on the way! The views from the gardens are epic and the best part was that the tasting was a contribution...More

The views were lovely but we found the place smaller than expected and nothing happening except some orchestrated wine tasting. Don’t expect food, tapas or normal winery vibes, it’s not here. If walking the lake track - the walk up would be strenuous on most...More

The location can't be beat, it is on a hill overlooking the lake and mountains. It is gorgeous. The tasting can definitely be improved. The wine experts that were in charge of the tasting were great, they were very informative and helpful. The tasting itself...More

It was a lovely free tasting! Friendly, chatty and welcoming staff and spectacular views! It was a nice way to fill in the afternoon. No bookings required for couples. No food is available there, so make sure you eat beforehand!

We had a private wine tasting with Helen - she was really easy to chat to and knew so much about the wines and the way that the vineyard operated as well. The views from the vineyard are some of the best I saw in...More

We arrived for a wine tasting (we hadn't booked as there were just the two of us) to be told there would be an 8 - 10 minute wait as the lady had already started a wine tasting with a group of 8. No problem,...More

I’ve visited several wineries in Bordeaux and Napa, but this winery is the best I’ve visited in terms of scenary. The vineyard is in perfect harmony with Wanaka lake. I recommend to drink two wines, made of Riesling and Osteiner.

Hello Traveler, Not sure I can answer that question as I'm based in UK. Rippon wine farm is beautiful but has not got a restaurant and if it is cold unlikely to have a warm spot. I believe Wanaka gets very cold over the... More
