This was a great walk with just a nice level of steepness to make us feel like we had done a bit of exercise. Great views at the top and there were heaps of people walking their dogs as well. It is a very popular spot

I climbed this track twice while in Wanaka for a wedding recently. Once in the late afternoon, and saw paraponting people as I ascended. Very entertaining. I also climbed it at 6am in the morning and saw lots of wild rabbits everywhere. A great track, steady climb and not too many steps.

I'm not very fit but was well worth the effort to get to the top for the view. We needed to work off the wine and cheese consumed on a girls weekend away. Lovely coming down. Well used track plenty of people coming up. Hot day good to take a wee bit of water.

This is a nice shorter hike than some of the others around and easy to get to ( close to downtown Wanaka). One can easily do this hike and go on to see and do other things in the same day. We did this hike then went on to the Blue Pools after which worked out well. It is such... More

We did one day before Roys Peak and it was a good training. You can see beautiful views of the lake and the city

While I now walk this track on a regular basis, when I first walked it I was so impressed by how beautiful it is. For such a short walk (5km) it really does give you a great view across both Lakes Wanaka & Hawea. It's not an easy walk by any means, but gives a great perspective of the area.

I couldn't make it right to the top but even 2/3rds of the way up we got good views of the town. Path rather uneven to walk on but worth it.

A moderate hike up the hill to the top. Although many rate this an easy hike, it is more difficult than hiking to the Blue Pools. My understanding is that some of the locals hike this daily to keep fit. View of Wanaka Lake and the surrounding area.
