    Excellent salmon!
This review is for their on-site store and their offering of salmon products. The salmon was excellent and the prices were fair in my opinion. We bought steaks, filets and smoked and all were delicious. Paid about NZD 60 and had about 1kg of salmon. I would recommend stopping here. We stopped in the morning and about 10-15 people were in the store.
Thank you! Our Fish Shop has only been open for less than a year, and we're thrilled at the response we've had to the shop and the products we sell in there.

    Great wee outing
Reading a few of the reviews I booked not having any high expectations and I’m so glad we did! We had a wonderful time shown how to cast and catch a fish. The staff were so patient and informative regarding the fishing giving us some great knowledge while we fished. The staff at the fish shop were also very helpful while trying to decide on what condiments to buy We will most certainly be back and I am glad I went to experience myself despite any review I read prior

Give it a miss - over expensive for what you get and unpleasant staff - just ripping off tourists . We booked for a group and were late for our booking which was our issue but the food was dreadful - salmon tails which are bones and no taste - selling in the shop for $18 per kilo - we paid $44 per person for thrown together sushi, average salad, fish tails and overcooked chicken. Staff were pushing us to leave - maybe A la carte is ok but definitely give group platter a miss. The worst part of our South Island adventure- bad bad bad

Thanks for your feedback. I will pass your comments on to the respective Managers. We can only cater for tour groups at specific times, so if you are late your food may be overcooked.

We had a great morning attempting to catch a fish. We had the full experience, casting, close calls and in the end the experience of hooking a salmon. Staff were excellent, clear communication and expectation.

Amazing sashimi & sushi - such good value and so fresh. The place is busy, but the line moves quickly and there’s plenty of outdoor seating. Kids can feed the fish.

Really cool place to go with kids - they can feed the fish for a donation which is amazing, they loved watching them splash about. Delicious salmon to purchase too.

Inform people that they need to buy the fish they catch at $32 per kg. We weren't aware which upset our plans for the kids. All the ads we saw said $10 to catch a fish.

Thanks for the review, but in all of our information about Catch-A-Fish it clearly states the per kg price. It costs $10 for the guide and equipment hire which is paid at the time of booking.
