Located on the edge of Mt Cook National Park our shop is stocked with Freshwater King Salmon -raised in the cool glacial water of New Zealand's Southern Alps. We have a great selection of sashimi, fillets, hot smoked and whole salmon for you to enjoy, as well as a picnic area with the world famous view of Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook. Stopped here on our way out of Mt Cook. Was expecting more description on how salmon is farmed etc Got a box of sashimi since we were already here - it was very fresh and of good value too!

There is a nice view but the salmon farm is just a salmon sales point with nothing interesting and no living Salmons.

Our kids don't usual enjoy sashimi, but the fresh batch we got from Alpine at the Lake Pukaki i-site was absolutely devoured. Very fresh and excellent quality. We also bought salmon steaks and they were excellent for dinner. Prices were cheaper than High Country Salmon...More

NZ$30 for a pack of 500g Salmon sashimi. Complimentary 2 pairs of chopsticks, 2 sachets of soy sauce & 2 small packs of wasabi. Any extra is to be purchased. We bought soy sauce & wasabi tube from the store. Prices are cheap.

Yes. The salmon shop (where there are also pens so you can feed the fish at no cost) are just across the road from where the fish are farmed in pens. There's not a lot to see at the pens as there is no access. However I... More
