Before or after lunch, dinner or the beach, during an aperitif... with family, as a couple or simply with friends, we invite you to spend a friendly and warm moment around a game of petanque with a view of the sea and the majestic cliffs. While singing this Brassens song to you, of course...

A good tourism office with friendly staff. We helped clarify the schedule and the place of departure of the bus to Ajaccio (there is no bus station in Bonifacio). The only drawback is the late start of work. Although it may be for the Mediterranean - 10 am is early...

This is the kind of job I should get. Be rude to visitors, basically giving the bare essentials and make them go away as soon as possible. We got a map at the tourist office and the male clerk told us museums were free. However, when asking him how to get there, he gave a Gallic shrug and hold us to go up. No further explanation. Obviously, no friendly approach and no smile. This is one of the first points of contact with the city and the attitude reflects poorly on the city as a whole. Maybe they do not care. Maybe this is the best they can do. Maybe it is part of the genetic makeup, maybe this is acceptable in their culture. However, working in a tourist office where you are the ambassador of the city and you meet with visitors from around the world, a bit more effort could be expected. In addition to a weekend premium, how about a smile premium and and a friendliness premium?

and very patient. They sell tickets here for visits to the ramparts. Also well stocked with maps and information, in English too.

There was some, but not a lot, information available. I was hoping to get some for our upcoming travels beyond Bonifacio but to no avail. The lady behind the counter spoke adequate English and was able to answer a few questions about the area.

Plenty of information in this tourist office but as it has been mentioned, the staff don't speak english so are unhelpful. I don't think this necessarily down to them but mainly a French thing, although you think at a tourist bureau they would be more multilingual.

Cordialement
Roxane
